Welte Roofing

When I told them what I was looking for, the person answering the phone said, "well we currently have a four month lead time and it will be $200/hr to look for any issues and then it will also be $200/hr for any actual work." This place doesn't deserve anyone's business with such a blatant lack of customer empathy. Edit for response from the owner: I could have waited, but it's not worth the wait when it's obvious you don't care about new customers.

You choose to filter them out by throwing out exorbitant prices before even listening to what they're asking you for. I wouldn't trust you to do a good job based on that alone.

I simply asked for a quote for some potential work on soffit venting. The VP, Jeremy, actually stopped by our house on his way to another job. He then sent me a very long, thorough email explaining what he saw and the various options we may have. Most of it actually entailed not using their services. I was so appreciative of him taking the time to stop by our house and send so much information and guidance to us. Definitely a great company in my opinion.

I have had Welte maintain my slate roof for about 38 years. There's a reason for that.

Quality people, service and workmanship. Many other roofing companies out there, but these guys are some if the best.

This is one of the best Roofing companies in the city of Pittsburgh. I would recommend anyone that wants a high quality roof done right to Welte. There craftsmanship with copper is superior to any other Companies they are true aartisans at there Craft.

Welte Roofing is a great company. Employees are courteous, articulate and they know what they are doing. I tried 3 companies to repair a gutter. Two did not contact me after the initial visit. The one which showed up did not repair the gutter. Welte repaired the issue and corrected other small issues. Having been disappointed often with people who work on houses, I am happy to report that Welte will show up and will do the work.

I couldn't wait for the opportunity to write a review for Welte Roofing. They replaced our slate roof. They are such a professional outfit. The crew we had at our house was as good as it gets. Roofing is such hard work and these guys were so good. The roof is beautiful and perfect, Jeremy Smith assured us it would be, and it is. Thank you Welte Roofing this was such a positive experience.

We are sprucing up the house and Welte helped us with some work. Our porch had begun to leak, and they came in and fixed it no problems! Thank you!

The good news, google won't let you give less than one star to Welte Roofing Inc. The bad news, Welte assured me that they could fix a minor leak in my roof. Not only did Welte not fix the leak, they made it significantly worse. As I was told (after the fact) Welte does NOT guaratee their repair work, but I would have to pay again to have them come out and fix the same issue that they assureded me they would fix in the first place.

Not only did they not fix the leak in my roof but they made the leak worse. Welte's solution, we will put you back on our list and you will have to pay again for us to come out and not guarantee our work. As a previous review stated: bad service, horrible quality, no commitment to customers. Find a company with better values. Could not sum this company up any more accurately.

Avoid this company at all cost! I have had the same horrible experience twice now. They take two weeks to come out (that is a long time when you have a leak.) On both occasions the quality of the work was so poor that they had to come out a second time. They aren't above charging you hundreds of dollars every time they come out -even when it is to rectify a job that wasn't done properly the first time.

Currently I have a significant leak that I have paid Welte to fix twice, but to no avail. Bottom line: Bad service, horrible quality, no commitment to customers. Find a company with better values.

Everything worked well with Welte -- easy scheduling, and a call the day before they were scheduled to show up to confirm the appointment. Then, they never showed up -- and never called. Good to know, now, as I found another roofer. Stay way from Welte. They're just another no-show contractor

We recently contracted Welte to service our roof and replace damaged slate tiles. Unfortunately, following the original service date, I had to contact them and point out exposed wood (I am no roofing expert but can spot if a slate it missing---the $445 inspection and repair was to pick up on this). They told me they were coming back out and would repair this at no extra charge.

After supposedly coming back out (I was not home), the wood was still exposed. I contacted them again, and their repair team told the sales dept it was repaired, but it wasn't. I will not be contracting w/ this company again.
