Don't know, they never gave me the courtesy of calling back. The receptionist was delightful.

I had a roof leak that needs to be investigated. Weston from the company sent a couple of people to investigate. They came out for an hour and charged me about $400. They did not actually locate the source of the leak but recommended breaking stuccos and installing new saddles which would cost over $6K and would not provide any guarantee. I got a second opinion from another roofing company where their crew located the source of the leak and repaired them for under $500. It was tested for leak and no issue was found. I'm relieved I didn't use Fidelity Roof and spend the $6K.

NOT respectful! Contacted their office today to see if someone could come over and give us an estimate and before I could even finish my sentence or explain what I was looking for I was told "no" we do not take any new construction jobs at the moment. Good luck finding new customers!

Because consistently good service from a company is rare rather than frequent, I feel obliged to credit any company that walks the extra mile to maintain good standards and demonstrate professional integrity; hence, this review. Every person with whom I was in contact several times at Fidelity--Tisha (office), Jim Wheeler (Foreman), and Matt Malin (Supervisor )-- consistently demonstrated efficiency, graciousness, and an interest in resolving whatever concerns I had.

I liked the feeling of being able to trust that what I was hearing was honest, straightforward and as expert as they come. When these people say they will contact you by a certain time, trust that they will. Ah, that other companies would follow the Fidelity Roofing Company standard!

December, 2014: I'd give them 6 stars if I could. They were strongly recommended by our primary contractor, and his high opinion is most certainly warranted. The day after I called, the Project Manager (Doug) came to our home in Petaluma, got atop the roof, and generated a detailed and photographed report about our primary concern (water intrusion from the chimney saddle) as well as any other issues needing attention (broken tiles, gutters, trees).

This report was emailed to us the same week along with a hard copy. Doug was patient and efficient dealing with our schedule and delays due to our own funding issues. When the time came to complete the work, the crew of two was there as scheduled, and the work was completed in 3 days, shortly before the major December rains in Northern California, a test which the roof passed with flying colors. There's not enough I can say about the professionalism of this company and everyone we dealt with, not to mention the high quality and value of their completed and guaranteed work.

As with most homeowners, I'm not a roof expert, and I need a local company that will do the work once and with the best interest of our house's integrity at heart; Fidelity is just such a company. We have a short list of professionals we exclusively work with for house projects and Fidelity is now on that list. November, 2018: Like a championship team defending their title the next season, Fidelity Roofing is back at our home, validating my initial "6-star" review!

Back in 2014 after the chimney saddle repair, Doug pointed out that the gutters would need attention sooner than later. After developing multiple side-wall leaks, the gutters are now in need of replacement. One email to Fidelity, and we were back in contact with Doug, who remembered our job and his recommendations. As before, Doug came out and generated a thorough estimate and contract proposal, which he provided electronically and in hard copy within 3 days; I'm getting a bit spoiled!

We emailed back and forth about color and material options; Doug is quite thorough and thought it prudent to send an original color chart (color charts printed from the internet are subject to printer variations), and we confirmed the color. Doug was in contact with us regarding the fabrication process and tentative date for the job, and the crew started on November 9; one month from initial contact to job commencement.

In the world of home renovation and major projects; that's light-speed! The 2-man crew finished the job in 2 days and the gutters look awesome; who knew that would make such a difference? If California ever gets any rain, I'm looking forward to NOT hearing the constant patter of water overflowing all sides of the house! Back to Fidelity, I can't say enough and I am fortunate to have found contractors and technicians whose work, ethics, and reputation are all so far above reproach. Don't call anyone else!

Considering the average response time for contractors these days, and the onset of the rainy season, we did not expect to get an estimate, much less a complete roof this season. The answering service was polite and informative, and our contractor Chip responded early and often. We needed a new roof on our home, and an integrated gutter system, as well as a roof on the garage on our rental unit.

The estimates were accurate, and Chip was very communicative. Both properties were scheduled within a month of our first call. The crew was punctual, polite, professional, and they cleaned up meticulously after both jobs. I could not come up with a single complaint about our experience with Fidelity. Highly recommend.

Overall great experience and highly recommend! My wife and I noticed a small moist separation in our living room ceiling the week of thanksgiving. In a frantic we called numerous companies to try and get a roofer to come take a look for a possible leak and found that almost everyone was booked for a good 4-5 months out. Thats when I came across Fidelity Roof Company, spoke with Matt and he understood my dilemma and sense of urgency and was able to squeeze us into their busy schedule and get someone out to us in 24 hours.

The guys he sent were friendly and very efficient. They ended up uncovering the leak which was caused by deteriorated sealant around the base of a vent on the roof and fixed it within 10 minutes max. Great experience!

These guys are totally respectful and dependable. They are very honest and they have the best prices and services. On Friday I spoke to an attendant and asked for a visit for today and they were able to fit us in to see our roof leak and for estimates. Trisha sent joel today and he was very knowledgeable prompt honest and responsible.

This family business run by Chip Upshaw gave the best price of 3 bids I got for replacing our flat roof with a high quality IB roofing material instead of the shorter lived typical tar and gravel roof. This coming summer will be the 5 year mark since the roof was done and so far we have had no problems what so ever. The only reason I was tempted to give a 4 star instead of 5 was due to a couple of communication snafus (probably due to the tenant in the building playing owner in part) but Chip was happy to address and remedy all concerns with a roof vent that disappeared and the few floating screws for the flashing and one other issue that I don't even recall. Need a new roof? Highly recommend giving this great local family company a chance to bid your job if you want to sleep well at night knowing the job was done right.

Fidelity did a large solar panel installation on my roof (over 30 panels) as well as repaired our roof over the years. Their customer service is incredible! Chip the VP, and Doug who oversees the crews, and their teams are prompt, responsive and professional. Each year since that work was done, they also come by and check our roof and gutters whenever we have had anything clogged in the downspouts or possible minor leaks in gutter seams or the roof.

This has been consistent for the last 3 years since we did the work. It's been practically same-day to check on things even in the busy rainy season. If you need a Roof replaced or repaired, or if you are considering a Solar installation, you should seriously consider them. Especially with solar, I don't want people on the roof who don't know roofing. The premium service and follow-up I can't say enough good things about it. Eric L.

Fidelity Roof damaged the inside of my house while installing a new roof. Although they told me in person that they would repair the damage, I later received a letter stating that it was "consequential damage caused by normal construction activities involving the exterior of your home and was not the result of negligence on the part of the roofing contractor." Really? When the roofing company steps through your ceiling wallboard? Be leery of hiring this company to install your roof.

Never used them, never will. I will never use a company that harasses you by continuous phone calls and demands 90 minutes to make their sale. I cancelled an appointment due to sickness and the next day, they called 3 times and the day after additional 2 more calls.

We called Fidelity after calling several other companies who told us our job either wasn't big enough or they were too busy. We had a few blown off shingles on our pitched roof that I had put off fixing due to drought and a healthy fear of heights and pitched surfaces. The leaks started with the rainy season. Doug spoke to me about their fee structure and how busy they were but, after sending him a few photos he said he would do his best to get a crew over.

They came the day El Nino started! The two man crew was very professional and efficient. Not only did they change the paper and fix the shingles, they also showed me why the shingles blew off in the first place. Unfortunately the company that installed the roof did a poor job but once the rainy season is over I intend to have Fidelity replace the roof. Thank you Fidelity, I can't imagine how bad the damage would have been after these last storms. No leaks!

I was freaked out by one of the reviews that gave one star, but this company was recommended to me by someone I trusted, so I decided to call anyway. The owner, Chip Upshaw, came out when scheduled, looked over our rotting garage roof, and gave me an estimate. He let me know exactly when the project would take place and how long it would take. The workers came and were really quiet!

They didn't turn on music or talk loudly. They quietly worked on peeling back the old, rotten roof and replacing it with a new one. The owner came out to inspect their work and talk to me about what they were doing with the gutters, etc. They did such a fantastic job that my neighbor asked me about it because she's looking into getting her garage roof fixed - old, old garages we have. You've got a one-star review and a five-star review. If I were reading this, I would be confused. But my experience was great and I'd definitely work with this company again.

Thank goodness for Chip and Fidelity Roofing! We unfortunately went with another roofing company to replace our old roof and the first time it rained we had leaks. After that roofing company "fixed" the leaks, we had even more leaks the next time it rained. When that roofing company would not respond to our calls and letters, we reached out to Chip and Fidelity.

Chip was professional, courteous and upfront with us about repairing our roof. Obviously they could not warranty the entire roof because they did not install it. He gave us a bid, the company did the work and they stay right on budget. Since their repairs we have had no problems with our roof. Yea, Fidelity!

It's rare that you hire a contractor who exceeds your expectations, but this was the case with Fidelity Roof. Re -roofing our house was difficult and a very big job. It's a Tudor on a hill and the roof has many sharp slopes and seams. A number of reputable roofing companies didn't even submit a bid after looking at the scope of the project.

But Fidelity co-owner, Chip Upshaw, submitted a bid within several days. It was well organized, easy to understand, and included a number of addresses we could visit to look at different roofing treatments. There were clusters of houses in various neighborhoods who had all used this company. I took that as a good sign of satisfied customers. On top of that, Fidelity was highly recommended by a neighbor down the street with a house similar to ours and presenting many of the same challenges. Fidelity has been around for 66 years and I can see why.

From the beginning, it felt like the entire crew was committed to doing superior work. They arrived on time and were efficient, diligent, organized, very skilled and careful with our plants. They were extremely courteous and accommodating to our neighbors and took great care in several tight spaces. They showed great pride of workmanship and cleaned up the mess every day.

The cleaning up was huge. We have extensive gardens. Every day around 4:30 pm there was no evidence on the ground that they had even been here. That's challenging when you're removing three layers of shake and making various dry rot and gutter repairs. Roofing is very messy work. Fidelity workers are bonded and insured, and the company's licensing includes classifications in roofing, general contracting, sheet metal, and solar.

They are also certified in asbestos. What all of this means is that they don't sub out parts of the job like carpentry, painting, sheet metal, etc. Their employees do it all, so their 5 year warranty on materials and labor really means something. During the project, Chip, our contact and a company owner, remained actively on top of the job. He was very responsive to any questions that came up.

He and the foreman were in close contact every day. Chip's follow through on the the smaller details was perfect. He did small, cosmetic fixes on our older gutters without any prompting. I didn't have to remind him about anything we had discussed. He also was flexible enough to do a last-minute add-in. When the new roof was already partially on, we decided to add a whole house fan which required a change in plans and additional venting.

Chip did this beautifully and without missing a beat. The final product is a winner. The roof looks really terrific. Despite the expense, we are really glad we did the project and had Fidelity as our roofer. I have already highly recommended them to several friends.

Fidelity Roof just completed another project for me, this one a commercial building in San Francisco, and it turned out beautifully, on time, on budget, clean, and with excruciating attention to detail. I see that the last poster was unhappy about the gutter that fell into her yard, but it is hard to believe that an event like that was caused by Fidelity (who knows, perhaps the gutter was about to fall in the next decent wind), and it sounds to me like the worker on the job was doing what he could to fix the situation, with little empathy from the poster (who most likely has never cleaned her own gutters). Anyway, the first roof Fidelity did for me was a 65,000 sq.ft warehouse in Alameda, in 1993.

Since then, I have hired them to do many other commercial and residential roofs, of many different types (shingle, metal standing seam, TPO, built-up, clay mission tile). I first worked with Monty Upshaw, early on. Toward the latter years of last century, I started to work with Monty's son, Chip Upshaw. Chip has personally overseen the work on each project. And, whenever something has come up that needed extra attention, I called Chip and he took care of it promptly and professionally.

I have not used Fidelity for their solar services [yet], but will when the opportunity arrises. If their solar work is like their roof work, I would expect it to be great! PS I have hired many other roofing companies over the years, too. But I keep coming back to Fidelity, as I have yet to find another company that compares. DJ Jacuzzi Properties, Inc. San Francisco

**update 2018** I wrote this review 7 years ago and still get harassed by people to remove it. And I will not. What happened 7 years ago was 100% accurate. Just cause I have my location as Tennessee, doesn't make it any less valid. People move! Please leave me alone! I'd give this company NO stars if I could. Very unprofessional. They were working on the gutters at my condo complex when BAM!

The gutter FELL to the ground, smashing our patio table, umbrella, some plants we had on the table, and other things. Before this even happened though, the guy KNOCKED on our patio window asking if its okay if he was in the patio! He let himself in. to private property! Uh no, it is NOT alright to be in my backyard even after you let yourself in! Then, after I saw the gutter fall, he came into the patio again to retrieve it.

Once again, he had NO PERMISSION to do this! I opened the patio door and asked him to leave. HE STRAIGHT up ignored me. So I threaten to call the police. he still didn't leave. He was there for 10-15 minutes doing God knows what to the gutter. As he was leaving, I told him next time I found him on my patio I was calling the police! He ignored me again! (which makes me think he doesn't speak English) DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
