Carroll Roofers

This man is a thief. He charged my credit card for over 1700. Then never got a receipt or supplies. He was supposed to side my house. I never heard from him again. Do not do business with these people.

The only reason they got 1 star is that I couldn't choose 0. We made an agreement with them late in 2019, and gave them a $6000 deposit. They were unreachable after that and in June of 2020 Jack Carroll showed up and told us an employee absconded with our deposit. He scammed us out of another $1000 to do some additional work. He then disappeared completely and the office stopped answering. We contacted a lawyer, but they have gone underground. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!

Work is unfinished and John Sennott has my money. He refuses to return or refund my money. Shady dealings. I gave him lots of time. I will take him to court. Services: Roof repair for storm & wind damage, Skylight repair

Leaky Roof. Carroll Sons owes me over $20K and I've had to file in SJC. They fired their lawyer and it was delayed. They rehired the same lawyer and now it is back to court. GUESS WHAT - they fired the same lawyer for the 2nd time. Another delay tactic? It will be almost 2 years before the next hearing - after someone figures out who their new lawyer is. This dispute could have been resolved in mediation, negotiation, first round legal but they are, apparently and in my opinion, hiding

Buyer beware. We had our roof done last fall 2019 and we can not get anyone to respond about a leak we have. We have tried multiple times over the last couple of months. no one calls you back, no one comes out. I just tried calling both the company numbers again and they are disconnected.

This company "renovated" a beautiful 1893 Victorian in Somerville and converted it into 5 condos in 2001. Not only was the work of poor quality, but how they renovated the house was absolutely ridiculous: closets that are too shallow to close the door when clothes are in them, bathrooms as far away from the bedrooms as possible, the weirdest shaped rooms imaginable, and the most bizarre porch design I've ever seen; it had to be completely rebuilt less than 2 years after they unloaded the property because they used the cheapest materials available and the railings all rotted.

Whenever we have problems with the property, it's never the 127 year old work that needs to be addressed, it's the work these hacks did. I've never seen such poor quality work in all my life (I'm an architect with a heavy focus on construction administration). I would caution anyone against hiring this company. I wouldn't hire them to build a dog house.

Chris Sennott and his crew did an excellent job putting on our new roof last week! Throughout the process of getting the estimate and scheduling the job, Chris was straightforward and very responsive by email and phone, and his pricing was quite reasonable based on the other bids that we received (plus he didn't push us to replace things that were still in decent shape).

The job ended up getting delayed slightly due to inclement weather, but Chris kept us up-to-date on the revised ETA, and there's nothing you can do about rain! Once we finally had some good weather, the Carroll Sons crew was super efficient (finished the whole job in 1 day!) and they did a great job cleaning up the debris. Chris was also prompt about handing a few touch-ups afterwards, and our condo association is very satisfied with the final results. I would definitely recommend Carroll Sons to anyone looking for professional roofing services at a great price.

The roofers broke a storm widow on the top floor and left unconnected down spouts. Despite repeated requests and promises of repair these remain unfixed.

Carroll Sons are a professional roofing and Gutter servicing company. I needed to have both gutter and roof repairs done. To me quality, professional and experienced workers is the most important aspect of having work done on the house. I had a number of items needing to be addressed and provided Chris with a list. The company sent 2 workers that worked their way down my list and did everything I needed as well as fixing things that I did not know needed attention.

They fixed my existing gutters, replaced damaged gutter parts, re-flashed 3 chimneys, secured loose aluminum flashing, installed a diverter over my front door overhang as well as other small fixes that needed to be done. While I was at work one of the 2 man team called me and asked if there was anything else I needed before they left. It is great working with a company that gets the job done properly. Joe Z

We just had Carroll Sons redo our roof and siding. Chris was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. He was in constant contact with us throughout the process, replied within minutes to any inquiry, and came to the house every day to check on the progress. The crew was fast; so fast! I was amazed at how much they did every day. They cleaned up after each day and did wonderful work.

We have already received so many compliments! After the job was done we got a thank you note from the company which was a nice touch. Those personal touches are often overlooked these days and it meant a lot.

Gutters were in very bad shape and needed to be replaced. One call to Carroll and Sons. Chris was right on time, pointed out the issues, one specifically was gutters separating from the house. Received an estimate by email immediately after he left. Other estimates were more expensive. Crew showed up, very professional, work completed in one day. Area thoroughly cleaned, all debris cleared from site. Recommend Carroll and Sons strongly.

We have been trying since February to schedule repairs with them to fix our leaking roof - under warranty since installation in 2009. Nothing has happened. They either do not reply at all, or respond to some phone calls sometimes, or don't even show up when an appointment is made. We are going to check with our lawyer what to do at this point and for sure we will not call them again when our roof needs to be replaced. What I find silly (being an entrepreneur myself) is to jeopardize your next possible big sale (new future roof with us) for a likely easy fix.

Just an update on my previous review. So I received a phone call within 5 minutes of my Yelp post, with excuses as to why the work had not been completed. I was told that the work would resume the next day and be completed shortly thereafter. They did come the next day and built a platform to exit our from the 1st floor and that was it! It has now been an additional 3 weeks and that is all that has been done. Do yourself a favor and do not call this company. Next step small claims court. Total nughtmare!

They promptly responded to fix a roof leak on our Somerville 2 family in cold February. Greatly appreciated.

I work with Chris mostly about shoveling snow off a flat roof we have in Somerville's Davis Square. This work is extremely important to us and our tenants. I find Chris charges an honest price and does quality work for us.

Carroll and Sons in Somerville is a family business, with whom my family and I, have been conducting business for 50 years. 10 years ago they installed a new roof on my new home. They were courteous and clean and have returned twice a year to clear the gutters and downspouts (for a modest fee) ever since. This last storm we hired the newest family member to head up the business, Chris Sennott, to handle snow removal and can not say enough about what a fantastic job he did.

He arrived with a small crew who dug out our cars, plowed the drive, cleared and salted all walks and stairs inside of an hour and a half. Best money I've spent in 2018. Highly recommend.

Caroll Sons installed a new roof on a bay of my house 3 years ago. The cement flashing broke and water leaked in causing a big water stain on the ceiling inside. I called Chris and he came out the next day and fixed the flashing, sent me before and after pictures and even discounted the price! Awesome customer service, highly recommend!

Chis from Carroll and Sons was great at getting back to me for a general inspection of the roof Carroll installed for us in 2009. He even understood when we had to reschedule at the last minute do to my error. When it can time to do the inspection, Chris and his coworker were early, fast, and thorough. Good news; the roof looks excellent still. We look forward to having Carroll install a new hatch for us, something they recommended. Great experience all around.

We called this company last month and they told us that they were going to stop by to do an estimate and they were going to call us back. We waited, we are still waiting. Called them several times, nothing. I hope they do not call us back because We already gave up!

It is impossible to get in touch with these guys. They came out to quote for gutter repair in October and told us they would get around to us in mid-November. It is the end of December and no one has shown up, and they won't return phone calls or emails. We've given up now and are looking for a company that actually interested in paying customers! I can't comment on the workmanship of Carroll & Sons, but looking at the other reviews, I think we dodged a bullet!

Were contracted to fix a leak in our flat roof and after several times of coming with the leak not being fixed they just stopped answering our calls. We ended up just giving up and forgetting about our refund. Randomly also seen staff shouting obscene things at passing women from their branded van.

My condo association had Carroll & Sons replace our roof about 2 years ago and now refuses to set a date to repair/replace a section of the roof that has failed. A representative came out, inspected the roof, agreed it was defective but will not give me a start date. Also 2 other licensed and very well rated roofers say the roof was improperly installed.

Its been almost 2 months. Furthermore, they keep saying they have other new clients that have been waiting for work. How about they fix what's wrong with existing clients before they take on new ones.

Had roof leak patched by these guys, continued to leak and roof had to be fully replaced by another company. Impossible to contact and approach to fixing bad workmanship was to cover in multiple layers of silicone caulk. Asked for refund as roof patch never worked, no response received.

I contracted for a job in November, 2014. Heard nothing. Because I understood what a difficult winter it was, I cut them some slack. By Spring I still heard nothing. Tracked down Chris Sennot who says he runs the operation. Assured me they would begin the first week in May. No show. No call. Nothing. I tracked him down again after this no show. Assured me they would start this Thursday.

I took the day off from work, but again no show. When I finally reached the clown, oh, he said not going to be able to start until the next day. His father, Jack Carroll, called me and assured me he was coming and would get the staging done today. By the afternoon I called to ask when they were coming. Assured me they would be there in an hour. Needless to say, they never showed.

No call. By the way, they have been sitting on my deposit since November. Unless you would like to be ignored, lied to, and have your time wasted, I suggest you not use Carroll Roofers.

Need a roof? Carroll & Sons are the ones to hire. Very happy with their work. They are neat and clean and very accommodating. Price was very reasonable. Hire Carroll & Sons you won't be disappointed.

These guys are timely, super polite, do a great roofing job and are incredibly clean. They really do a great job Oh! And there is one specific guy who is VERY nice on the eyes. That was a bonus, though.
