Roof Repair
Report
We can’t overstate the importance of detecting leaks early, and while you might feel the urge to pull out some ladders to repair the leak on your own, it isn’t a do-it-yourself task. We have decades of experience to draw on as roof leak repair professionals, so we know how to get the job done in a way that’s safe for everyone.
Roof Replacement
Report
There are instances when the cost of repairs exceeds the cost of a new roof. In these cases, we offer roof replacement services and are prepared to work with you to get the job done.
Whether you plan on recovering parts of your existing roof or performing a complete roof replacement, Leak Stop Roofing’s specialists can help you choose the proper roofing procedure. We contract with highly respected companies and make sure the work is timely, affordable, and of the highest quality.
On average, you can usually expect your roof to last about 20 to 25 years. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always go as planned. Hail damage, low-quality roofing materials, poor attic ventilation, and improper roof installation are just some of the factors that can cause a roof to require early replacement. Leak Stop Roofing’s roof replacement services are a great way to ensure long-lasting protection for your home while increasing its overall value and energy efficiency.

Chris came out at the first availability when weather permitted, found the source of my leak, fixed it the same day quickly and showed me pictures. He then explained so many things to me to help me understand what I should look for in a future roof replacement project. Very knowledgeable guy and I appreciate all the information provided on top of completing the work. Thank you!

Highly recommend their service! Michael quickly responded to my call about a sudden leak that started in my master bedroom overnight. He was at my house on time, diagnosed the issue, talked me through everything, and quickly and effectively repaired it. Can't thank him enough for his work! Definitely recommend!

I contacted these people to repair a leak. I was honest and told them I don't have the money right now. The man that came out gave me three options. I finally got the money and picked the middle plan for the repair. The man that came out to write the estimate became ill and things got delayed. It was my choice to go with them so I waited. I was assured this will take care of the issue for a few years.
The man miswrote the repair order and they were going to begin work on the wrong part of the house. We cleared everything up and did the middle plan or plan b. The worker seemed a little smug when I asked if he feels this took care of the problem. He said I did what I was told. Was there something he noticed? He also recklessly tossed his ladder over my neighbors fence.
I was looking forward to a leak free home. The leak kept coming in after the repair. When I called they said call the worker to see if he wants to look again at our roof. They passed the buck. Then wanted to sell more work. I am glad I found someone else who properly repaired the roof and seemed to care if it was done right. one more thing. After I contacted them about the repair not working they brought up a soft spot in the flat part of the roof that was never mentioned in the first place. Thanks for nothing leak stop roofing.

Matt at LeakStop is really the best. He is full of knowledge, advice, and his experience shows. He is clear in communicating scope of work, project schedule, and maintenance tips. I've used Matt for roofs for 2 different properties, each with its own set of unique challenges. I would not hesitate to recommend Matt. Don't waste your time with other roofs who aren't able to keep their scheduled appointment times and ambiguous estimates. Call LeakStop instead :-

Mike was very helpful in my conversation with him. I have a vaulted exposed wood ceiling in a mid century split level that was leaking without rainfall. He explained that many customers were experiencing condensation similar to mine. This winter has been unusual with extreme cold but no snow pack. Rather than suggesting a total ripoff of the roof (which did not work for others with same problem), he suggested trying to lower humidity levels in house. I appreciate that he was very forthcoming with me and answered any and all questions I had.

Chris was both thorough and professional in diagnosing cause of a small leak I noticed. He was also professor like in describing ideal conditions to prevent leaks. He responded to my call quickly and communicated clearly that he could come out to take a look. He texted to confirm appointment the morning of. We also had a follow-up call to ensure my full understanding and satisfaction.

Leakstop came out to supposedly seal the counterflashing on our chimney. We recently had a leak after a major rainstorm, and a guy from a different roofing company looked at it and said that our counterflashings look like they haven't been sealed in years. We have seem the photos. Leakstop charged us $250 for work that they didn't do.

To be honest, I was disappointed with the overall experience. On one hand, the owner came out, we discussed the issue and his price was fair. So I hired them. Now he and I had a very specific conversation, including a discussion of a sketch I provided to define the optimal job as far as I was concerned. It involved putting a membrane roofing over a low pitch, and two high pitch sides, to insure that if we got another ice dam in the future, that the pooled water would not go through nail holes and into the house.
I specifically instructed him to put shingles "on the edge" of the membrane roof. So when the formal quote came, it mentioned putting shingles over the high pitched area. I figured this was in line with our discussion. When I got home, I came to realize they shingled over the entire high pitched area, not just the edge of the membrane. This was a pointless exercise, since it was more work for them, and if water pools again, it's gonna go right through the nail holes on the lowest shingles on the high pitched portion (where low pitch meets high pitch).
Thus accomplishing nothing. I really assumed that the owner and his worker would have been in better communication on this matter. It should not take a roofing novice (me) to point out a shortcoming to their solution. I raised this concern, was told someone would contact me, and no one ever did. Update: Not only did no one call me, but I sent the sketch that I discussed with the owner (when paying the bill) to remind them of the job that was supposed to be done.
This was the precise sketch we discussed and agreed to. I am sure he remembers now. But still no call. Guess he's taking the money and not accepting responsibility. I took the high road and paid the bill. Why can't he take the high road and admit a mistake? I would stay away from this organization. If you can't admit you made a mistake, that is not good. We all make mistakes. Better to be able to admit it and resolve the matter in some way.

Can I give out 12 stars? That's how good Michael was. I called about an issue with my attic fan. He came out a couple of hours later to look at the issue. He explained what he thought the problem was and how he would repair it. We agreed on a price. Told him I'd see him later in the week. He said no, he's going to get some parts and repair it today! "Something less to worry about" he said. He also looked around on the roof and repaired some flashing that had come up.
Mike was great. I'd recommend him for any roof repair issues!

This is the second project at our house for Leak Stop Roofing. We had other roofer options available sooner, but wanted to wait for Leak Stop to be available after a big Chicago storm. It was worth the wait. They had to tear up a roof deck, quite a bit of it, to find 2 separate leaks in our roof membrane. Afterwards, they put everything back in place with stainless deck screws and even had their guys move a roof top Jacuzzi back in place for us. Michael is straightforward, direct, honest about their timing and the scope of the project. Let's hope we don't need them any time soon, but when the next leak pops up, calling Leak Stop again.

Mike was quick to call me back. He did the repairs that needed to be done and didn't try to sell me a new roof like all the storm chasers. I have been told by storm chasers (not Mike) that I had terrible hail damage and I needed a new roof. Mike didn't see any evidence of hail damage and said I had lots of life left in my roof and that I should get it checked every other year. Nice guy, prompt, and honest. I will use him again!

I noticed an active drip in my attic a few weekends ago and I found Leak Stop Roofing online. I contacted them through their website and on Monday morning I got a call from one of their workers. He was in the area and could stop by my house that day within a few hours. When he arrived, he saw the issue immediately and explained that my chimney had an improperly installed flashing.
He had an iPad and was showing me pictures he had taken of my roof. Since a house call was a minimum of $250 and the patch for the chimney flashing was such a small job he offered to patch other areas on the roof that could be a potential leak in the future such as exposed rusted nails on the shingles. He did the work and the leak was successfully fixed. I was impressed with the speed and professionalism displayed!

I had a totally 5-star experience with Leak Stop. First, there was direct, clear, and prompt communication. Second, all communication was from Michael Glow, Leak Stop's owner (which I greatly appreciated). Third, they did what they proposed to do when they said they'd do it, and at a reasonable cost. Fourth, the worksite was spotless after they did the work. Fifth, after they did the work, and it was time to pay, Michael suggested that we wait until after we'd had a couple of good rains so we could be sure that their efforts had been successful. Sixth, long after that work was completed, and through a couple of seasons now, there has been zero evidence of further leaking. Therefore, I highly recommend them!

I called at 9PM and had a phone call back by 9AM the next morning. Mike came out that afternoon and stopped the leak at my house. Understand - Mike does not steam the snow off your roof -- he shovels it off and breaks the ice off. Once the snow and ice are gone, nothing more is there to melt and leak into your house. I couldn't be more pleased.
The leak stopped and he did it for 1/2 the price the other company quoted. This is a friendly honest man who does a great job. He told me what it would take to fix the roof - I said I was going to try to get the original roofer to fix it - he was fine with that. Highly recommend this service. And just FYI - if you can get the snow off your roof before the big melt comes (and we all know its coming)) you will save yourself a lot of grief. :-)

Unfortunately three leaks had re-sprung. They returned to fix them, they were better for a while. One has since appeared yet again. Leak stop told me they were out of ideas and I should call a Stucco company. I had a generally good experience but feel I have to reduce the rating for 4 stars instead of five now.

We had leaking in three separate units from the roof due to the recent snow and rain. After being ignored by local services I reached out to Mike and he was in the city in no time (on a Sunday no less). He assessed the situation carefully and promptly fixed our roof. The leaking has stopped. Mike was very professional and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend Leak Stop Roofing for any roofing repairs you need.

I used Leak Stop Roofing on my 120 year old building in Lincoln Park and they did a great job assessing any spots that needed work, informing me on the remaining life of my roof, fixing the slate on my building that was loose, as well as fixing a gutter problem. Mike and his partner were professional, reasonably priced and even threw in a couple of extras. I would definitely use them again if I ever have a problem.

In the middle of a heavy rain, our ceiling started dripping. Early the next morning I called a few places, and Leak Stop Roofing had already come out to my house and fixed my roof before the next person even called back. The price was very reasonable and, most importantly, after a few more downpours I can say with certainty that they fixed the problem!

I highly recommend. Our house is a flip. The roof was put on by the lowest bidder. Leak stop came in and found the problem. They put in a temporary fix so we could get through the upcoming rain. Then came back and fixed it properly the next week. That was maybe 3 years ago and it is still not leaking. Now we have a different problem and happily called them back.
They will fix the new problem in a couple days. Cost under $500. They do what the name implies. Your roof is leaking, call them! I don't think they do full roof replacements. Maybe they do? But their focus seems to be on coming in and fixing the leak problems.
