Nu Look Home Design Roofing

Terrible group to go with. They stuck with their planned timeframe and got things done quickly, but this might be one of the many reasons they failed us. Not only do we constantly find nails throughout the yard (and we had the work done in March), but the gutters are put in incorrectly. One set on the front is not secured to the house, so water drains back towards the house, and then the back one is dropping in the middle.

If anyone understands the law of gravity, this does not help move the water towards the drains. Now, since the work was done, we have called, texted, and emailed constantly with only one call back. What's the point of extended/lifetime warranties if they never answer their phones or emails? Terrible group and I highly recommend you use someone else. Anyone else.

Don't know what the point is for lifetime or super extended warranties on the work because they never answer their phones. They don't care about anything after they get their last payment. Though they were on schedule and got things done pretty fast, not all of the workers did a great job. Our gutters on the front and back of the house are not on correctly and how water is not draining out the correct way.

We have called, texted, and emailed numerous times. Most people would consider us stalkers with how much we have contacted them with no response. This is a ridiculous group and I wish we didn't get talked into working with them. Go with anyone else. This group sucks.

We recently had our roof replaced by Nu Look Home Design, and we couldn't be happier with their performance! The salesperson (Preston Smith) was kind, patient, took the time to explain the entire process and all the materials they would be using. He listened when we talked about our overall plans for the home, our budget, the leaks we were experiencing, and addressed all of them and recommended the products that would fit our current life goals, plans for the future, budget, and concerns.

We were then assigned a Project Manager (Kevin Albanez) who performed a quick survey a few days prior to start of the project, and kept in contact with us until the final phone call with him where he ensured we were fully satisfied with the installation and cleanup. The crew that performed the installation was extremely courteous; showed up at the specified time, kept the debris on the ground and noise to a minimum (while some construction noise like hammering and sawing is to be expected during a roof replacement, I was surprised I was able to continue working from home as they completed the louder tasks as quickly and quietly as possible), ensuring we were safe when my wife needed to leave the house for a while and finally leaving our yard completely clear of all trash and construction materials (they actually left the yard cleaner than when they arrived)!

Before they left they invited my wife and I to come outside to inspect the installation and cleanup job, and our Project Manager Kevin Albanez ensured we were completely satisfied with the job before letting his crew leave. I will admit that Nu Look was not the least expensive roofing company, but we had such bad luck with so many other companies when trying to replace the roof and felt that Nu Look Home Design had one of the best reputations that we opted to work with them.

They are clear evidence that you get what you pay for, and in my opinion are the best choice when having any work completed on your home! We have been so impressed with the interactions we have had with Nu Look Home Design's sales team, project management and installation teams that the day after the roof install we contacted Nu Look Home Design to have them replace our windows!

They replaced 6 windows and installed a back patio door. I had an issue and NU Look corrected the problem immediately. They were very profession. Jess provided outstanding service and was very knowledgeable of the process.

The quality of the work (Roof, Gutters, Soffits, Sun Tunnels, and Siding) was all great! The Salesperson--Tyler Walker was fantastic and in large part why I selected Nu Look. My complaint is three-fold: 1) the quality of the workmanship when they completed the Sun Tunnels (I got two), 2) The nails I've collected so far from the backyard, deck, and front lawn, and 3) I was told by the Project Manager (Jason Mrotek) I would not be charged for the extra panel of plywood (yet I was) they had to use on the roof as an acknowledgment they had left a mess with the Sun Tunnel installation and had left the attic ladder down which caused a hazard.

I sent a personal and confidential letter to Patrick Fingles, CEO of Nu Look in an effort to get these three issues resolved over 30 days ago and got no response. Again, the quality of the work with the exception of leaving the Sun Tunnels installation incomplete was good.

Refused to even come out to do an estimate unless both homeowners were home. Kept claiming it was for "Customer Experience". Not very military friendly. Can't bring my spouse home from deployment to get a roof spiel. Had several other companies come. Not one requested both homeowners.

High pressure sales tactics, overpriced, wouldn't take no for an answer, had BS reasoning for why their offer was only valid one day and if I didn't sign something right then and there the price would go up like $2000+, the salesperson obviously didnt respect my reasoning as a young single woman and tried to take advantage of it by scaring/coercing me into signing. even told me to call my parents. and literally wouldn't leave my house for 2 hours.

Other roofing companies are much quicker, straightforward, honest, and affordable. After they left I did more research and looks like many others had similar experiences and a terrible rating on Yelp even though they bragged during their sales pitch about having "amazing reviews." Thank God I didn't fall victim to these people.

DO NOT use Nu Look for Solar panels. I had to do all the leg work to verify that my install was going as planned. Everything Nu Look claimed they were "handling, " after several weeks of missing out on the summer sun, I discovered upon follow-up with the coordinating agencies (such as BGE or the permit department) that they "have had no communication with Nu Look." The company completely misled me and gave lip service through the entire event.

So I missed the entire summer of energy generation and missed out on lowering my electric bills/electric bill offset, all while being charged for the cost of the panels. After chasing them down for months, I got some repayment. Later, when I called BGE to find out what kind of energy I was producing, I found out that the panels weren't working.

Here we go again. I've been trying to get my money back for the monthly payment of the panels that haven't been working, but now they won't return my calls. It's been a nightmare. If you decide to go solar, follow the process every step of the way, otherwise you're potentially paying for something that isn't operational.

I would highly recommend NuLook for your next home renovation! Preston Smith, our sales associate took the time to fully educate and explain everything that would be done and the tools and supplies that would be used. We had 3 other quotes and those insividuals were a good bit cheaper, however, they didn't take anytime to discuss what they were doing and the quality of their material.

I left our meeting with Preston feeling like I could do our roof (not really) and felt extremely more comfortable with NuLook. They weren't the cheapest but they were the best quality in work, skill, and materials by far! Call Preston Smith, guy knows his stuff!

The Nu Look Home Design salesperson came out to pitch why we should go with them, offering to do a "free" inspection, go over all aspects of the inspection, findings, and the choices we had for replacement. Additionally, he was very clear and repetitive in stating that the warranty was fully inclusive of all the work (hint: it is NOT). We asked a lot of questions and got bids from three other companies.

There is a reason they are "cheaper" than the others. First, they left a lot of small debris in the yard which we had to clean up (dog paws). Second, if you call with a problem it takes nearly months to get a call back. If you want them to come repair something they said was covered, they will come look and say that is not covered and there is an extra fee for repair (hint: thousands of extra dollars).

In our particular case the repair needed is to the soffit which was NOT noted to need replacement in the original bid/findings, but is apparently in need of replacement now (more than $3500) because they damaged it when putting it back on the house. CAUTION and FOREWARNED in continuing to use this company for any roof replacement. We do NOT recommend!

Service: How me estimate for Roof, Siding and Gutters. My Look Home Design specialist was prompt and professional. Extremely knowledgeable on all products while educating on others on the market. We never felt pressured and he was transparent with quality and price the entire visit. He made sure we were comfortable with all options and was even able to get a 360 rendering of our house to provide accurate measurements and a visual representation of our house to compare roof and siding colors. I look forward to our remodel date and definitely recommend them for great customer service.

I tried hard to get an estimate from Nu Look to replace my roof and install solar. But the sales rep that called simply had no notion of time; after I had given him all the information about my house and the work we wanted, he kept asking irrelevant questions like contact details for my spouse (after telling him 3 times that he just needed to deal with me.)! I think he was just following a script and didn't had the initiative to adjust to my own timetable and needs.

We attended a webinar held by Nu Look about roof repair/replacement, and based on our own research and the information presented in the webinar felt comfortable arranging an in-person visit from Preston, one of Nu Look's sales reps. Nu Look was communicative and proactive in setting the meeting up, and Preston contacted us to follow up when the appointment was first made to introduce himself and confirm the appt. Preston's sales meeting went very well with us - he was very open and transparent about the services offered and the products used by Nu Look, and was able to answer all of our questions and address our concerns well to our satisfaction. Preston was also able to go through each line item of the proposed work, explaining the cost and value of every item, and comparing them to market costs.

We in fact were comfortable enough with Preston and Nu Look by the end of our mtg to commit to the roof replacement and an additional job, replacing our front door. Our experience with Nu Look so far has been fantastic, and we are looking forward to our new roof and front door.

I made an appointment over week ago and because I didn't answer a unknown number trying to call me, they cancelled my appointment. I missed a days pay to take off for this just to get let down. I told the guy that since he couldn't make the appointment that I didn't think they could make it here on time to put a roof on my house either. I will be using another roofing company to fulfill this for me.

My wife and I are working with Chadd and Travis for our roof project. Both have been very responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful through the roof replacement process. Nu Look has handled every aspect from working with our insurer, coordinating with our HOA, and keeping us in the loop along the way. I would recommend using them and actually made a referral to family because of my positive experience.

So this review is only for the sales visit. While I did sign with them, no work has been completed or even begin yet. I only signed yesterday. Stan and Chadd came to my home to present my options for both possible solar panel installation and vinyl siding. They were on time and courteous, even coming a bit later than the appt time (at my request).

Both were professional, friendly and even funny. I was not pushed into anything, nor only presented with the more expensive options. I was shown what was offered in both high and low price brackets and allowed to choose for myself. So far, so good, it's been a great experience. I really like the transparency in pricing and the low pressure sales pitch. I have high hopes and good feelings about the rest of the transaction.

Roof Installation Review (will post a different one for Solar Installation). We highly recommend Nu Look Home Design for your roofing project! Nu Look was not our cheapest estimate, but we're very glad that we chose them to do the roofing part of our project. Cons: - While there are some small things Nu Look could do better, the only real con for us was the lack of real communication (automated emails don't count) between time of sale agreement and scheduling the installation. Pros: - Detailed, genuine, sales visit that didn't leave a 'sales' taste in our mouths. - Second visit with both solar and sales reps (Stan, Preston) that included how they could do both roof and solar. - Professional, efficient roof installation the day of install. - Responsiveness to questions/concerns on day of roof install. - Clean up at the end of roof installation. - Follow-up after roof installation. Neutral: - Price -- it depends on what's most important to you.

For us, the final price reflected the quality of all the materials (not just the shingles), the professional installation, the materials and labor warranty, and the comfort we felt with the company. All that made the price worth it to us. We consider the roof installation as part 1 of our overall project with Nu Look, so we'll post another review when part 2 (Solar) is complete! They had me at "Free inspection and we deal with your insurance"! Travis actually originally thoroughly inspected my roof in 100 degree weather. I wish I could give this company no stars instead of 1. Their work is still costing us money over a year and a half later. we have nails coming though our window trim from installation Of our siding. They didn't caulk our balcony trim and now we have to rip down our ceiling and drywall around windows due to mold we now see from the water getting in.

I had to pay over $7000 OOp to fix our brand new deck they scratched up. Busted my daughters water slide laying Ladders and tools on it. Knocked down my garden walls. Ruined our outdoor carpets. Had enough never to say they sent a check but sent it to another client with the same name. From 3/2019 nothing had been paid for and now we have to replace all the drywall around anywhere the leak is!

Zero stars! My look would not give me a quote without my husband's permission! How dare they discriminate due to gender! I make all decisions and pay from MY bank account, yet they wouldn't give me the time of day without a MAN!

Jake was the salesman that came out and he was excellent. We chose to go with Nu look because of the outstanding lifetime labor warranty they offered. Jake was upfront about pricing, including the possibility of higher cost due to having to replace decking. Nu look was willing to work with us on the price and came in very fair. I love that they are a family owned business, it shows in their presentation. If you are looking for new roof, definitely consider Nu look!

I called nu look for a free estimate on my roof replacement. I had seen one of my residents getting there roof done, what caught my eye was how many men were working. This let me know it wouldn't be an all day job which i liked. Well Nu Look must have sent there Best of the Best sales associate. His name is Spencer, first of all he was 5 min early. Spencer was naturally friendly had an upbeat personality and his ability to engage in conversation was amazing. Spencer knowledge of the products and how it worked made me feel like i can go put up my own roof.

In all Spencer had the 3 p's I look for when doing business. Professionalism, Patience, and a people-first attitude. I would definitely work with nu look again and ask for Spencer.

Jacob and Preston Smith were very personable and knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable in making a decision on our roof. My Dad has some mild cognitive issues and they made sure they answered any of his duplicate questions without hesitation. They give you a lot of info that makes you feel like you could do the job yourself. More importantly it makes you understand the quality of supplies and work you are getting.

The experience was rather fun as we all got to share some well needed laughs all while making a major decision. We feel extremely comfortable with Nu Look coming to do work at our house, we are also confident the job will be done in the fashion to which we agreed on. Their warranties are out of this world. If you need a roof or even some work on your home done, these are your guys. We are looking forward to their crew living up to what we were promised. Thank you Jacob and Preston!

Avoid this company! Scam tactics, very high pressure sales. DO NOT USE! They only care about you signing a contract - Nothing else! Shady dishonest company!

The company is a ripoff and so overly priced. Don't believe what you hear on WTOP about saving and paying 50% for the material etc. They were all lies. We should've done our due diligence and got more quotes before signing the contract. The salesperson started with such a high quote and went down to make you think you were saving. It was a marketing tactic, don't fall for it like we did.

We had two other quotes from reputable roofing companies and their prices were $6000 - $8000 less for the same material, specification and work. Not only that, the quotes were straightforward, no need to start high and go down; no games. It was late to cancel at that point without incurring cancellation fees and paying for the material. Like I said we should've done our homework and shopped around. I don't recommend a company that plays games like this and isn't straightforward. They charge so much higher than others for the same type work and material.

In 2018 I had NU look put in sliding doors to my deck a new roof over my Florida room and skylights. They got a different color skylights then I requested and convinced me to keep it, had the wrong lock for the sliding door and botched a window sill at my second floor bedroom. I was willing to work with them but they already started billing me for the work before completion. Salesmen said to me I would not start paying until I signoff and happy with the job. I never did and started getting bills, they are quick to have you start paying but slow on fixing the issues. This is why I will not use again.

I always listen to Shine FM. I heard NU home design. I decided to call to get an estimate. They promised a 50 year warranty all bells and whistles. My old roof had no issues except it was about 15yrs old. Right after NU Home replaced my roof i had a leak. It leaked in my kitchen. I called 3xs before they even came out. Months later after yelling at Shirley on the phone and a share holder finally got someone to come fix it. 3 months later after again yelling at Shirley on the phone i was told by her they were not fixing the damage to my kitchen ceiling.

I called the emergency number one time when the water was leaking all over my kitchen floor. I had buckets every where. No call back. I decided to call someone to inspect my roof. They told me the things they promised me is not what is on my roof. I really think the attorney general should investigate.

Philip was great! He was very knowledgeable and detailed. He took the time to really listen to our needs and not pressure us into making a decision right away. He was very personable and was great to talk to. Even though we had no intention of making a decision without other estimates we signed a contract before he left because he got us a great deal and we were very comfortable with him.

Met these guys at the Capital Home Show at the Dulles Expo. Two guys came out to take pictures of the roof. One guy said he needs to come back the following Monday to take additional pictures and do his own inspection because he did not have the proper shoes. Two weeks later I never hear back and I call and he had an excuse to come up with. We rescheduled and still hasn't shown up.

I call the main line and said I have not been able to get in touch with my contact. They promised that they would get in touch with him and have him or his manager call me back that same day. I wait until the end of the day, no word, and call again. They said everyone is gone for the day, so I give them until the next day or I will go with another company. No word from them so, I guess I am going to go with another company. Terrible communication. Just bad business practice.

These guys replaced my roof and there was one section of siding that needed to be removed and rehung to install the flashing. They completely botched the re-installation and as a result the roof has leaked twice when water got behind the siding. They refuse to accept responsibility telling me its a siding problem, not a roof problem thus not their fault. The roof NEVER leaked before they replaced it. It was just old.

The worst in communication, lies, do not honor their promises or correct their mistakes. company avoids responsibility. I would never recommend this company. we were scammed and left with many many repairs to be done. Service Finance released the funds, 63,000, to the contracted company without our approval.

I was very pleased with their Professionalism and their method of cleanup was amazing. They were on time they were very polite they worked as a team and I would never call anyone else if I was you to do your roof. The neighbors have been admiring my roof and my sign and I am hoping that they get more business because of that.

Paid a deposit 2 months ago & communication has been horrible. I cant get people to return my calls to schedule an installation. Had a date scheduled, took out work, & they cancelled at 8:37 that morning. I am very concerned that this is the way I am being treated BEFORE they have my full payment. I hope this is not a reflection of what is to come.

Had multiple quotes from other companies on roof ranging from $4000-$6500. NuLook came in and did a 60 minute waste of my time sales pitch "free estimate", with a $14,000+ quote. if I signed today, it would be "discounted" to $11,500+. This is NOT including the $4000 up charge for all new sheathing that they insist I need, but I know I only need about 10% replaced.

The other quotes are using the EXACT same materials and EXACT same warranty. I'm an architect and know the materials. I don't like hiring the cheapest game in town, but I'm sure not going to pay more than double for the same thing. Makes me really sad that they advertise in a "Christian" radio station and do business like this. Very sad. I went with a $4,500 quote on the exact same system and warranty. and got a great roof.

I would definitely shop around before using NuLook.they make it seem like they're doing you a favor with their ad on the radio.they wanted to charge me $18,000 for a standard colonial rip off and replace, $5,000 of that was for standard gutters. Shop around, I got the same exact contract, line by line from a reputable local guy for $6,700. NuLook has way too many levels of people in the process to pay that's why they charge so much, not because their products or materials or warranty are superior.

I’m very happy with my new roof & gutters. The workmen were all professional, did a great job & cleaned up everything when the job was completed.

We are extremely happy with our new door from Nu Look Home Design. We are constantly getting compliments from neighbors, family, and friends. How excited we were to debut our new door at Thanksgiving! Throughout the process, their customer service was perfect, from the time we signed the contract to the follow up after the install.

Maybe this review will be flagged because it is not critiquing the quality of their work, but I am writing this because my wife was harrassed today by one of their "salesmen" Eddie B (if indeed he used his real name). We have a clear sign on our doorway stating "NO SOLICITING", however Eddie B proceeded to ring the doorbell anyway. My wife answered the door against her better judgment, and told the guy that we not do talk to solicitors.

He replied "I am not soliciting", before giving an obvious sale pitch! In addition he kept saying to my wife "you can open the door, I don't bite", which was highly unprofessional and made her feel very uneasy. rHe then asked when I would be home so he could return and do his sales pitch again! I don't know how the company will feel about this if they read this review, but I think they should take action against any salesmen using such strongarm tactics - if we say no soliciting we mean it!

Avoid at all costs. I needed a roof estimate and the estimate was around 13k. The salesman resorted to threats when I wouldn't sign the contract. I used a local company and got my roof replaced for just over 5k. I get angry when I hear the radio ad on WMAL. Don't get screwed by these aholes.

Michael was wonderful!! He came in and was very real and down to earth. He took the time to explain everything and show what he was doing and why he was doing it. When it came to pricing he explained everything very plainly I result felt like I knew way more about installing a roof after his visit than I did before. The roof desperately needs to be fixed and he could have take advantage of that but instead he worked with what our needs were and was able to get the project done right but at a price we could afford. I would recommend Michael and Nu look home to anyone hands down.

When I put in a request for information on a new roof I did not expect a call so quickly. Kathy called within 3 minuets. She was pleasant, knowledgeable, and informative . She set up an appointment with Phillip that was convenient. Phil was pleasant and knowledgeable too. He took pictures and built the estimate on the spot. Lots of options and recommendations to help me decide what would work best for me.

Great financing options too. Henry the project manager showed up and took more pictures to make sure all was in order. Times for material delivery set. The crew showed up on time. Mariceo coordinated them like a well oiled machine. They worked well together. Not like some crew chiefs he joined in on all aspects of the job, even holding a ladder when it was needed.

The attention to detail was great and it was done fast. Cleanup was if they had not been there. Henry called to make sure everything was good before they left. If you are looking for someone to do something for you I cannot recommend these guys enough.

We had a great experience with Remodeling Consultant Phil! We just bought a new home and had a roof leak (not something a new homeowner wants to go through). Phil came out to our house the next day and walked us through all the products and financing options available with Nu Look Home Design. He made it an easy decision to choose Nu Look.

Everyone from sales through installers connected with NuLook Home Design are very professional, friendly & ready to listen to our needs. As promised, the workers arrived by 7:30 am to begin work & completed the roof by evening - I day! The next day, they returned in the morning to put final touches on the project. Then the cleanup was outstanding! Nothing was left behind, no nails, pieces of paper... absolutely nothing! I highly recommend them and will contact them again in the Spring when ready for other projects.
