Buck's Roofing did an excellent job replacing our old shingles, installing 2 skylights, and adding new gutters and the results look great. It was just "tested" in a big downpour and we were watertight. Jim Larsh was attentive to detail, pleasant to work with, and efficient; likewise, his crew, who cleaned up afterwards with considerable care.

We needed a new roof and we called Jim as he repaired our roof 7 years ago after we'd had several repairs which always ended up leaking. After Jim fixed our roof, we never had a leak again. So, when it came time for the new roof, we called Jim. He gave us a fair price. He and his team came out on Tuesday They had the new roof on, all of the inspections done and everything cleaned up by Friday. I would strongly recommend Jim and Buck's Roofing for any roofing repair and new roof. He does an excellent job.

THIRD TIME'S A CHARM! I got 3 estimates, the first two of which were higher than expected. It was only on the 3rd time that the Buck's Roofing estimate was right on. A great value indeed. I had the pleasure to work with Jim Larsh, the owner. He was extremely knowledgeable and meticulous about setting up my roofing installation and doing a quality job.
He pointed out things about my existing roof that would not pass inspection. This was not mentioned in either of the 2 previous estimates. Even adding in the additional labor and material to get my roof up to code, the estimate was still very acceptable. Talk about being responsive. on my initial contact, Jim called me back within minutes. You know you're in good hands with that type of customer service.
The work was scheduled in a timely manner. I had 2 layers of existing shingles that were removed in no time. The new roof installation went very very well in my opinion. The roofers did a great job. Many thanks to Jim for making the process incredibly easy and seamless. A tribute to his years of experience and being a people person (a very important characteristic). For those of you in need of a new roof or roof repair, look no further. I can guarantee a 6 star experience!

The roof looks great! Jim and his crew worked hard and quickly to complete the job in a short amount of time. Jim took time to communicate exactly what would need to be done to replace my 30-year old roof, as well as some options so that I could make an informed decision. Bucks roofing owned / operated by Jim Larsh was definitely The most helpful and informative roofer I contacted during my search. Jim explained all the different kinds of roof coverings, vents and exactly what he was going to do. He Inspected my gutters cleaned them out and recommended that I save some money and not replace them. He also installed a solar attic fan to increase the airflow and remove excess heat. Jim was very professional and replied to my text messages and questions very timely.
When it came time for the installation and removal of the old shingles it was done very quickly. He made sure the surrounding area was clean and free of any debris. I couldn't be happier with a job he did and the way he communicated. And oh yeah by the way his prices are very reasonable. If you choose box roofing I'm sure you'll be happy with the process and the finished product. Steve

Wonderful contractor. I had an insurance company deadline for roof replacement. Buck's Roofing (Jim Larsh) had a crew do a great job over Thanksgiving weekend without batting an eye. I'm not knowledgeable about roofing, but I could tell that this was done better than the former roof. They added more ventilation, used gutter flashing, and made improvements to the plywood sheathing all documented on his phone camera.
The quote was quite reasonable. The gutter guy he sent out was a fast working pro, doing the rain gutter up better than it was. I can't believe how happy - and relieved I am - with this job. The insurance company accepted the photos no prob, and I was set. If you need roof replacement and are within the service area, I can recommend this company.

I had several problems with my 25 years old roof including, but not limited to, a leak near the chimney, rafters with dry-rot, and an improperly installed skylight that needed to be replaced. I had several roofers to give me an estimate for the job that need to be done, but none of them met my expectations. James, the owner of Buck's Roofing Inc, was the only roofer who was honest, details oriented, professional, licensed, and has a strong knowledge of the building codes. In addition, he is always on time and give me a reasonable price. I, definitely, recommend James and his crew for anyone who is looking for a nice professional roofer.

I got several quotes for roofing skylights. Jim came in at the best rate so we chose him. After we agreed to do the project, Jim came back and said it would cost 3x more than what he originally offered. In fairness to Jim, it was much more work than what he originally anticipated, but he should have taken the time to examine that before offering us a quote.
After we hired him, he then told us we had to pay him in cash and that his quote didn't include any materials or supplies, which is normally what is covered when you have a quote for a job. We agreed to an hourly rate since we didn't think we would need him for all of the work. Then after they did the initial skylight install, he came back with two hours more than the original workers had spent installing on the roof.
When I asking Jim what the extra two hours were for, he said it took two hours for his workers to go to the dump and dispose of the previous skylights. When I asked Jim why it took so long at the dump, he started yelling and swearing at me and said "just pay me whatever you feel like". I calmly told him that it was very unprofessional and inappropriate to yell and swear at a client and that I have a right to ask questions about lengthy times I'm being charged for after the workers leave the house.
He responded by saying he's done with our job and we can work with someone else to finish. I asked that he have his workers at least finish sealing the skylights and we would pay for that time and we gave him the money for his hours, including the two for the dump disposal. I wanted to share our experience to give you a heads up of what it may be like to work with Buck's Roofing aka Jim.

Can't say enough nice things about Jim Larsh and his crew. I had a leak from my roof in the recent rains and reached out for help. Jim responded quickly ( on phone and in person). gave me a very quick and clear estimate. He was good on his word to schedule our fix before the next batch of heavy rains within a few days. His crew did a fantastic, clean and professional job.
His estimates were precise and the before and after pictures of the work were thorough. I would recommend Jim and Bucks roofing whole heartedly for all roof issues small and large.

We live in the Southgate neighborhood in Palo Alto. In August, we interviewed four roofers and chose Jim Larsh and his team to replace our shake roof. Jim is an excellent communicator and outlined our options for us in clear detail. We were very happy with our Presidential Shake composite roof and it looks beautiful. We got a fair price from Jim after receiving bids from several Palo Alto roofers than were much higher for the same work, but cost aside, Jim was by far the most helpful, honest, and enthusiastic of all those who bid. Jim and his crew were a delight to have around.
They did the best job possible of cleaning up debris from our garage and grounds and kept the noise to a minimum given the scope of the job. They were friendly and helpful and their work is superb. I cannot imagine a better or more professional team. I highly recommend Buck's Roofing for anyone looking to replace or repair a roof in this area.

We had a few cracked tiles and other minor issues identified during a roof inspection and to fix them Buck's Roofing was recommended to me by a friend. Jim and his team were quick to come out and did a great job squeezing in the repairs between seemingly incessant rainstorms - and in spite of the fact that they were already busy with other contracted projects. Highly recommended.

Needed a new roof during the first storm of this year, Jimmy from Bucks Roofing came highly recommended. I called him up, he made it over and up on my roof the next day, he told me what I needed which I already kinda new, a whole new roof. Jimmy had his guys out there within 4 days and tore off the old one and installed a nice new roof. The only think I had to do was pick out the color. Him and his guys did a great clean job and cleaned up the grounds real good upon leaving. Thanks again Jimmy! -BF

Buck's was a top notch company. Jim has decades of roofing experience and made it easy for us to chose a great product. Jim offered great advice on what was necessary vs what was unnecessary. Jim's crew was very friendly and did a great job. We are extremely happy with our new CertainTeed roof and the presidential style we chose. We got a very fair price for a great job! I would definitely recommend to anyone else that needs a roof.
