In 1914, my grandfather emigrated from Germany, looking to improve his fortunes. He began as a "tinner" with a local roofing company in Louisville and shortly thereafter went out on his own, as a horse drawn cart would take him from job to job. Much has changed over the 100 years since the first Steinrock landed in Louisville; however, many things have stayed the same--like the need to provide quality roofing at a fair price. We are grateful for our rich heritage of integrity, craftsmanship, and hard work.

American Roofing came when they said they would to do a bid which involved two separate teams -- roof installation on the house and repairs on a carport. When they had supply issues during the roof installation, they communicated often and sent a worker to make sure there were no issues during rain. Due to weather and supply issues, it took longer to complete both jobs. Whenever we called, they were very responsive.

I contacted them initially about a possible repair job to a shingle roof, but it turned out I needed more work than I expected. Their estimate was complete and well supported and the price was reasonable. The work was done promptly, and they assigned enough people to the job that I felt they were able to take the care needed and still finish quickly.
The final result was beautiful, especially the new vents! Clean-up was superb! I was especially impressed by how well Wes Beams communicated and kept me in the loop, even though I lived out of the area.

I had a leak in my roof shortly after moving into a new house. Every contractor I contacted wouldn't return my calls, didn't want the job or couldn't get to me for another 2-3 months. I contacted American Roofing and Metal (Wes Beams was my contact person) and within a few minutes, we had an appointment for Wes to come out at a time that was convenient for me the next day. Wes was knowledgable and kind.
He made a point to be there when my insurance adjuster came out and was always available for any questions I may have. When the crew came to do the work they were fast and effective and completely cleaned their mess afterwards. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Our initial communications with the sales rep were great. We signed a contract for a new roof on the garage and a new flat roof to cover a kitchen addition on the back of our house. Once the project was underway, we discovered that the actual roofing structure was rotted out underneath, so it turned into a much bigger job. But the job took almost two months in total to complete.
Along the way, days (even a week) would go by with no work crew on site, and no updates from the project manager. I felt like we'd been forgotten, or at least deprioritized. I understand the company is very busy, but perhaps they're taking on too many simultaneous contracts. The quality of the materials used was top notch and the finished roofs look great.
But it took several tries -- the work crew left a bunch of stuff lying on the lawn for over a week at one point(tarps, wheelbarrow, ladders, materials), which killed all the grass. Then, once the installation was completed, they left gutters hanging unattached with pieces missing. This took three weeks to get resolved, only after calls and texts to the project manager (our only point of contact).
In the meantime, we received an invoice from the company in the mail, before the job had been completed. We're happy with the resulting roof but relieved to be done with this project and with the company.

Wow! American Roofing was great. They patiently answered all of my questions and promptly responded to my emails. Roof replacement was done in one day. They cleaned up afterwards and even cleared vines from my patio. Above and beyond. Everyone I dealt with was professional, polite and helpful. Next time I need roofing services I will be using American Roofing.

Few major purchases require more leg work on the part of the consumer than buying a roof. I spent countless hours shifting the wheat from the chaff. And when I talked to George Hart with American Roofing & Metal he took me straight down the road I figured out for myself. High quality, fair price, very conscientious men performing the installation.

Have you noticed all the roofing ads on TV? Perhaps they are trying to tell you something. How do you choose? Who do you trust? Based on my personal experience twice, I can't praise George Hart and American Roofing enough. It's very rare to find someone and a company that is so straightforward about their buisnees and their service. George answered every question every detail honestly and without hesitation.
I had a lot of questions. Their bid was so much lower than another using the same materials and covering the same area, that it honestly scared me that I was missing something. George was there by my side from start to finish. They exceeded all expectations in quality, workmanship and getting the job done. When they finished they cleaned up everything so well that you never would had known they were here, except for our beautiful new roof.
The finished job was not a penny more than the original quote. I had used them a few years back on a new addition, that same top quality caring and pride continues to exist today! Note that the addition was done years ago with a non dimensional shingle. That forced us into using a non dimensional shingle again. Quote wise the difference apples to apples was over $800 less with American Roofing!
