Built-up Roof A low-slope or flat roof covered with alternating layers of roofing felt and hot-mopped asphalt and topped off with a layer of gravel. Cornice The wood or metal finishing at ends or edges of building, including a fascia, frieze, or rake. Counter Flashing The flashing that is embedded, or attached, and sealed at its top in a wall or other vertical structure and is lapped down over base flashing.
I had to replace my old roof before selling the house, and I got a referral to your company from a friend. I was so impressed with the professionalism and overall craftsmanship! The new roof greatly increased the value of my house and it was all because of you. Thank you for your hard work and reasonable prices!

I am very satisfied with the job Hollingsworth Roofing performed. The roof on our house had been in disrepair and I spent quite some time looking for a quality (and caring) roofing company. I called over to Hollingsworth and the young lady that pick up the phone was more than willing to help talk through my needs. The only issue I had was wanting a Charcoal Black shingle and they showed up with Hunter Green the first day, but were extremely quick to note the mistake and had the correct shingle that day.
Overall great experience with this company and would use them again down the line! However, With the quality of the job performed, I doubt I will need them within this decade.

Hollingsworth was used based on a few good referrals. They came out promptly, gave a quote of work to be performed. I was told they were ten weeks out for the minor repair. Which I was completely understanding of.asked to be put on any canceled openings. Low and behold they "fit" me in the next day. Up to that point a satisfactory experience. However, upon seeing the work performed in under 45 minutes, and a invoice for $500.
I had some concerns and reached out to them. For assistance and to rectify things on some missed aspects of the repair. The work performed was satisfactory with some minor issues needing. However, the customer service was about the worst I've ever had in dealing with any business. Rude and unprofessional emails. Then calling my consumer side a "courtesy" because they fit me in quickly. Lacking the commitment to serve the customer, lack of answering any questions on work and materials, or finishing the job to best and professional level.
As a customer I needed a verification on the work performed, and why the charge was what it was. I was repeatedly told the job was complete and to send payment. That any and all questions should have been asked prior to enlisting the repair. My advice.thoroughly vet them, ask questions, get a detailed description of why the cost is what it is. My repair was minor, I was at home the entire work order. $500 for a few plastic collars(that value around 8 bucks at Lowe's) some caulking and fasteners, plus routine roof maintenance all finished in less than 45 minutes of work.
At a $500 fee! The parts/material and labor in no way come out to that price! Overpriced and when I asked for an itemized value. They state, it is what it is. Should have asked us beforehand. While still not completing the repair to completion. They simply state "job is complete". While becoming defensive and angered. Buyer beware! I'll take my services elsewhere next time. Luckily my roof is in great shape other than the outrageously high priced minor repair done by this company.
Buyer Beware.do your homework on this company. Enough reviews have given their feedback on the interactions regarding the customer service side of this company. They lack quality customer service as well as a lack of commitment to stand behind their work. Stating a job is complete, and to send payment. All the while having these interactions by email to the customer. Things happen on job sites and work performed we all understand that aspect.
But if a customer informs a company that the job wasn't completed. The company needs to stand by their word and write up, instead of becoming rude and defensive. They act Contrary to the attached company line letter they'll send along with their proposal!

I first met Craig after we bought our house and I wanted someone to take a look at our roof and give me an idea of the overall roof's health and potential need for roof repairs or replacement. We had no real idea of the history of the homes roof and I didn't want to just wait for something to go wrong, I wanted an honest idea of how our roof looked. Craig looked things over and said there were no immediate issues and the roof should be fine for a few years at least, no pressure to sell anything and or scare us into doing any repairs.
About 3 years later we decided to replace the whole roof, we wanted a nice dark shingle and wanted the peace of mind of having a solid shingle and roof on the our house. I again called Craig and he gave me a fair quote and very upfront estimate of the job. His team started when they estimated that they would, weather permitting and they had our roof completely replaced in just a few days.
Excellent professionalism from the crew, Craig and anyone I talked with at their office. The end product looks outstanding, it really improves the look and value of our home. Thanks Hollingsworth Roofing!

The Owner came by to review the repair job on our roof. He said that they would call me with estimate. A week went by, nothing. I had to call them for the status of their estimate. They said they were waiting on prices. Another week went by, still nothing, and I had to call them again. They gave me the same answer as before, waiting on prices. It's been over a month and a half and they never had the courtesy to email me, text, call me, send a letter, or leave a phone message. NOTHING!
This is the same company that did my roof back in 2004. They had and excellent customer service back then and did a great job for me. Obviously things have changed. They just completely ignored my requests and did not even have the courtesy to contact me and tell me that they were or were not going to do the job. Since that first contact with them we have had more water damage due to major tropical storms coming through.
My faith that they would call me back with an estimate and their total lack of response has cost me more even more damage that I will have to deal with. I do not recommend this company. I will never use them again.

Hollingsworth did a full roof replacement on my home. They were recommended to us by a member of my wife's book club. We were completely satisfied with the job. Kayla did a great job working with us on the quote, contract, and picking out the style and make of shingles. Berto and his crew did a fantastic job on the installation. Owner Craig Hollinsgsworth was extremely responsive with a few very minor followup issues. I really feel that the aim for 100% customer satisfaction and we were completely satisfied.

Hollingsworth quoted us X amount and then completed the job and billed us 15% more than the original quote (almost $1000) with payment due upon receipt of invoice (immediately). When we inquired about this, they copy and pasted a line from the terms and conditions from the initial quote which stated, "Any necessary wood replacement and/or carpentry work (i.e., siding, framing, decking, and painting) will be done on a time and material basis in addition to the roofing costs; and determined once the job has begun." This line protects them and screws you, allowing them to bill you for whatever work they completed (or claim that they completed) with ZERO notice to you whatsoever.
They never called to let us know that they would need to replace anything, they definitely didn't provide pictures or an option for us to even take a look at what they found, they just billed us for it and said "payment is due now." They called us AFTER the job was completed and the invoice was sent to make sure we received their bill. My husband and I both called and tried to explain that a phone call should've been placed to let us know this was coming, and they again just regurgitated the line in their quote that protects them from having to explain anything to you.
We understand needing to protect your business, and we certainly understand that roofers don't have X-ray vision to see under the shingles, but common courtesy and good customer service practices indicate that a call should be placed to let the customer know this expense is forthcoming. They refused to acknowledge that they should've called, and they just want to be paid.
I've attached a photo of the front of our roof as well so that future consumers understand the aesthetic that they'll receive if they choose to move forward with Hollingsworth. Note the rippling - could this be from the new decking they installed? I'm not sure because I have no clue where it was installed. It could be from anything but again, we wouldn't know since they didn't communicate with us. Crappy customer service and a crappy aesthetic. Disappointed that we went with this "family company." Wondering if the Hollingsworth family would want to be treated this way.

I was having leaking issues in various spots in my roof, so I contacted Hollingsworth Roofing in order to diagnose and repair the problems. It turned out that I needed a new roof, so I decided to go with Hollingsworth on the full install of a new GAF roof. Berto took the time to explain all the details to me about the process. The crew took their time and did the job right. Also, Kayla from the office was extremely helpful in sharing info and details on the process since it was my first time installing a new roof. Craig, the owner, was fantastic too. My new roof has been 100% problem-free and it looks amazing. I'm a very satisfied customer and highly recommend Hollingsworth Roofing!

Everyone at Hollingsworth was very kind and helpful, which was great since I'm in New Hampshire and had to arrange the replacement of my mother's skylight in her Charlotte home. My mother has Alzheimer's and has 24-hour care, so arranging repairs, etc., can sometimes be challenging, so I appreciate how easy this was. The day I called, they happened to have someone in the area, so they came and determined the source of a ceiling leak. They performed a short-term fix. I had a quote within a day or two, and the skylight was replaced as soon as the weather cooperated. Great job!

Excellent roofing company! Hollingsworth is fair, honest, professional and punctual. These guys are the real deal, not some impermanent fly by night company looking to make a buck. They are a local, family owned business that's been in the Charlotte area for over 15 years. I know this because they put the roof on my parents house in the Southpark area when they first opened for business. (Roof still looks fantastic today) Then, in 2008, when I bought my first house in the Selwyn Park neighborhood, Hollingsworth replaced the roof on that property with a beautiful, dark green architectural shingle. (Thanks to their service follow ups, roof looks practically new still today.) These are some of the hardest working guys in the industry.
I watched them for a couple hours when they replaced the roof and was stunned at how fast and methodical they work. My roof was in really bad shape and there were several spots that were rotted and needed to be replaced. They also installed a ridge vent across the main gable which has helped with cooling the attic and keeping our AC costs down in the summer.
Another thing I'm very particular about is clean up. No one likes to find random roofing nails around their property, especially if it's in your foot! I was very pleased with how thorough their clean up job was. Not only did they lay tarps down during the replacement process, but then went around multiple times with large magnets picking up every scrap piece of debris left behind.
I've recently moved to a new home in Cameron Wood, and have already had Hollingsworth out to do service repairs on our existing roof. We have about five years left until we need a new roof and there's no question who will be replacing it! If you're looking for a dependable, local company that's tried and true, look no further!
