Worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. $1700 for a repair that took a couple of hours. It leaked just as much after the "repair". I called to get them to come back out and they would not talk to me until I threatened poor reviews and legal action. But then Barry wouldn't talk to me because I was "so mean". Give me a break. Needless to say, they did not stand behind their work, and I will never use them again.

I would have given 0 review if I could have. Had gutters replaced and within a short period of time 3 gutters began to leak in which Barry could not find. I was told Barry was out to the house but never saw him and my gutters continued to leak. I was still told there are no problem with the gutters. I called for the last time and was spoken to extremely rude and basically informed they were not coming out again even though I was still in warranty. I proceeded to call another gutter company which came out and fixed my leaking gutters. I would not recommend using this company EVER!

We have used Merrimack Valley Roofing a number of times now (most recently to repair wind damage), and they have been rock solid every time. They are responsive, do quality work quickly, and at a fair price. For this repair I called them yesterday, and my roof is fixed literally less than 24 hours later. Thank you MVR! DO NOT use this company! They are horrible, poor customer service. We made the bad choice of using them for our gutters and they are HACKS! Barry and joe are rude, disrespectful and ignorant! They took no blame for their horrible work. Neighbors have asked us who we used because it looks so bad! Barry came out here after 3 months of the job being completed after we told him we were unhappy with it.
He walked around one side of the house and said they did a great job! He was shouting at me so much a neighbor came out and had to step in! Told him he shouldn't talk to females that way! Save your money go with a more reputable company!

I hired Merrimack Valley Roofing to install a new roof on my home. Barry came by and gave me an estimate that was very reasonable and he was very honest about optional upgrades that he recommended (a few he actually told me I didn't need!). The install was scheduled within a week of my acceptance of the bid, and the whole job was done in a day. I wasn't home but Barry texted me throughout the day with updates. Overall I'm very happy with the job they did and definitely recommend them.

Stay away! These guys are crooks and liars. I paid a $7,500 deposit and they never gave my money back. Newburyport rejected their permit because they are not allowed to do business here. They filed under another name (Billco Roofing, LLC), they forged my name, didn't follow state T&C guidelines. I notified both companies within 72 hours to cancel to get my deposit back.
I sent cancellation letters to a couple of their address. I called owner John Wolf and notified him by phone within 72 hours. He refused my cancellation. Merrimack Roof is not a legal business registered with the state. They delivered the material anyways. I found the $5,766.41 invoice with the materials and notified him they owed me $1,733.59 and would keep the material, because I was told by the city they NEVER return money. They agreed, but its been months and they will not return my money.

We had a roof over in August of 2015 and it was visibly leaking by Feb 2016. Since then we have had leaks (worse in the winter when it snows heavily) into the kitchen ceiling. Barry, from Merrimack Valley Roofing has come out to look at it two different times, but never fixed anything because nothing was ever wrong. Yet somehow, the roof just kept on leaking.
Fast forward 4.5 years, now we have just had 3 other companies up on the roof for quotes. All three immediately found the leak that Barry and Merrick Valley Roofing could not find, and all three agree that the workmanship of Merrimack Valley Roofing across the entire roof is absolutely shoddy, and substandard. Good materials (GAF) but very poor workmanship.
As a result, we will have to replace the entire roof to resolve the leak. For the record, the leak did not exist prior to the roof over, and the leak was caused by a DirecTV satellite dish that was left on the roof when we bought the house, that was removed by Barry after the roof over was completed. We came home from work that evening and Barry was still there.
We saw that the roof over was completed but the satellite dish was still in place. We asked Barry to remove it. Barry climbed up on the roof and proceeded to take it down. After the removal, Barry apparently used a nails to hold the shingles displaced during the satellite dish removal down, but some of the nails did not seat into the wood properly and instead created the leak that we fought for over 4 years that has caused significant damage to our kitchen ceiling.
Although Barry came back out on two separate occasion to fix the leak, each time in our pre-visit conversations on the telephone, he made sure we understood that the workmanship was perfect and that anything found would not be covered by warranty. Of course he never found anything wrong though and the roof continued to leak. Here is the moral of the story, do not ever use Merrimack Valley Roofing, as they are the absolute worst roofers in NH!
The peace of mind that comes from realizing and accepting the mistake that we made by using Merrimack Valley Roofing and now having to write off the $8k and pay another company for a new roof to be installed correctly in less that 4 years cannot be overstated. We are overjoyed that the reason for the leak has finally been found and we can, finally move on from the horrors that Merrimack Valley Roofing caused! Save yourselves and your money, please use any other roofing company, but do not use Merrimack Valley Roofing.

I am just delighted with the responsiveness and the quality of work that we have had from Merrimack Valley roofing. Barry has been a reliable referral source in real estate and he has taken good care of roofing my 91 year old father's home. I have also had my rental property roofed by them and am happy with the job. Exceptional and I would be happy to speak with people who are trying to be very thorough.

Hired last summer to put new roof on my first home. Seemed like nice honest guy but we were wrong. Google his name and he has been arrested for some bad stuff!! Our first winter, we had tons of water damage to porch, an entire wall and ceiling in livingroom because they did NOT put flashing where the dormers meet porch, which was promised in contract. Barry came by, shoveled off the area and blew it off as "this happens all the time ice dams" and left. Called me and said they would come back and flash dormers for a fee and we told him we knew all about his tactics and reputation and were disgusted.AND, the contract says they are BBB members, BS...lies about this too. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!

Do not believe a word anyone says about this company. Quote one price just to get in the door, then WAY overcharge for a job which was HALF DONE. The fact that they didn't complete the job caused a bigger leak in my house. Barry Billcliff is the person I spoke to. He is unhelpful, unfair and demeaning. Refuses to fix damage done by the workers. Ironically, the same name comes up in various articles about a roofer who has been arrested for assaulting a customer, stealing money, etc. Buyer beware!!!!!!

I called Merrimack Valley Roofing and Gutters and they came out the next day to do the service. They quoted me a reasonable price over the phone and I couldn't have been happier to accept the offer. The service was really quality. They actually fixed more than we thought they would have to, but didn't change the price. I referred them to my neighbor who did a full roof.
They saved tons and the roof looks great. When it is time to replace our roof we're definitely going to call Merrimack Valley Roofing and Gutters! In fact, we're having them look at windows for us now. I love this company!
