Newton Roofing

I would not recommend them. Initially it appeared they did a good job on my rubber roof, so I hired them again for full gutters, which they subcontracted out. Within the year I had a large leak develop behind their new gutter. They acknowledged the problem but it took months, and constant badgering by email and phone, to get them to come back and fix the problem.

They tried a temporary fix with sealer, which failed in weeks, and then it took weeks longer to get them to come back and install a fascia apron. The next year, my rubber roof leaked where they had flashed it. Again it took months to get them to come back and look at it, with constant badgering. When they came back they applied a copious amount of sealer and told me that I had a rot problem with a wooden railing that I would need a carpenter for, and that they would send me photographs and suggestions for repair.

They never replied after that, and the leak continued despite their sealing attempt. I finally gave up and found a new roofer, who tells me that they did an inferior job in the first place, and the repair is costing me thousands of dollars.

We had an excellent experience from start to finish. Newton Roofing provided a detailed, competitive estimate, and was able to find a replacement Energystar-rated shingle when the original shingle was unavailable. The job itself was completed on-time, in a single day, and looks great. Highly recommended!

I hired Newton Roofing to fix a leak in my roof. Their estimate was in line with other companies' estimates, and from what I can tell the workers did a good job. However, I was not impressed by the communication or follow-through. When I signed the contract, they were booking 4-5 weeks out, but Rich said he would have someone come by that week to patch the leak so that we wouldn't get more water damage.

No one came to do the patch, so I followed up a week later. He had an excuse, but said that someone would come by the following week. No one ever came to place a patch, and Rich stopped responding to my emails. Four weeks after signing the contract, I called to find out when the work would be scheduled. Someone on the phone told me that they would be at my house at the end of the week. Again, no one came.

Five weeks after signing the contract, I called again and expressed that I was unhappy. I was finally able to talk to Rich, and he finally scheduled someone to come fix the roof. I understand that things come up and that the work is dependent on the weather, but I was not happy that no one reached out to me at any point about the delays, and that they failed to contact me when they did not show up on the scheduled days. Additionally, Rich told me during our initial email exchange that they would inspect the rest of our roof while the team was there, specifically an area where there was a split in the fascia board.

I do not believe that this happened, and honestly I was so frustrated that I just let it go. However, I do think that a truly good company would follow through on things like this.

Rich and team at Newton Roofing are absolutely top-notch! We had our asphalt roof replaced and added a copper snow belt with copper gutters, and they did an amazing job. Each day, the site was cleaned and the crew worked hard all day through it. I would recommend them to anyone considering a roof replacement, especially if it has some complicated components to it.

I would highly recommend Newton Roofing. I had a limb that fell on my roof causing much damage. Gus came initially and secured the holes with roofing tape (emergency) came back in 2 weeks. Completed the job. 2 men excellent work, cleaned up. Looks like it never happened. One of the men's name was Gus. A gentleman and very knowledgable. 5 STARS for sure

They were quick and very efficient and came back to clean up a few marks on the siding. Overall very happy with Newton roofing,

Received a call today from the person who originally came out to look at the roof. He agreed that the company dropped the ball on this and that his crew was supposed to come take a look but that it just fell off the schedule. He did offer to have the crew come over same day, but I had already worked with another company to have the leak repaired. I am writing this update because I appreciate the fact that a representative from the company called to apologize that this had fallen through the cracks - that shows integrity as a business.

The VP Amanda was extremely professional and courteous when it came to repairing our shingle roof. All the workers were super professional and the final job came out beautiful. 10/10 service would recommend to anybody in the future.

Newton Roofing Residential was an absolute pleasure to work with regarding my new roof. Their salesman showed up on time and provided me with a very competitive price. Installation was a breeze. The material showed up they day before the installation. I left early for work the next day and came home to a beautiful completed roof. We have kids and pets and was worried about leftover debris in the yard, but the yard was clean of any signs of the project. I would definitely recommend this company for all your roofing needs.

Best roofing company in Boston hands down! As part of our church family, we had put off replacing the roof of our church for years due to budgetary constraints. We worked with Rich Melo of Newton Roofing and he was extremely understanding of our situation and he bent over backwards to help us. Our roof is not easy, most roofers we called shied away because of the numerous peaks and valleys and detail work.

The inside of the roof, namely the ceiling is very ornate and has so much detailed work so we were very worried that any leaks or problems would ruin the interior. We felt the most trustworthy roofer was Newton Roofing and boy are we glad we made that decision. After tons of rain, snow, storms, wind, the roof has held up perfectly. Thank you for a great roof and a great price!

So the owner of Newton Roofing, Toni Bryan, wrote a 5 star review about her own Company in response to a one star review by an unhappy customer; am I the only one who thinks this is ODD? We are looking for roofers in the area but honestly this alone makes me not want to work with this Company.

After long wait they finally show up to fix our leaky roof. took them two hours. we were impressed and happy. Until our contractor came to fix the ceiling and wall. He found out that roof was not fixed right. Have our insurance adjuster came to take a look, he agree it needed to redo it! The owner or manager of Newton roofing said he will come and take look, but never show up.

They not only didn't do a good job, also left the "junk bag" on the drive way. Its still there three weeks later ignored our calls and email. our mistake was pay them too soon. The worst experience we have with any roofer. Do not recommend this company to anyone period.

I called Newton Roofing and they came out a couple days later (unlike every other roofer I called) - Richard was super helpful and knowledgable. I had gotten an estimate for $2800 from another roofer for what I know now to be unnecessary work done to my house. Richard figured out that the source of this minor leak was due to wind driven rain from the window not the roof. Saved me a ton of money and a big headache! I have already referred them to many people. Reliable, and trustworthy- can't beat that.

Didn't go with them, but I am rating the professional estimate they did. Some people rate businesses negatively because they didn't show up or call back. I'm doing the opposite. I was very impressed with the great work Newton Roofing did in coming up with an estimate: on-time, fast, professional, careful, competitive, complete. We didn't go with them for various reasons, but I was very impressed and would certainly recommend them to anyone else.

Well, they pulled through and proved they are reliable, hard working and most important trustworthy. They had some communication issues at first but once we got past that, I cannot recommend them more highly (and I work with many contractors). I worked with several members of the crew and they were all friendly and knowledgeable. I feel completely confident recommending them as honest people and excellent roofers. Sharon

Just an update to my 9/13/11 post. Its been over a year and I still find roofing nails in my driveway. Also, over the course of the year my roof leaked in three spots. They came out and determined that it was all from one source and fixed the problem (so they say). Now I'm concerned about mold cause I have a 15 month old daughter.
