A worker employed by RCH Roofing hit my parked car with his truck and then drove away. The company owner, a man by the name of Rick Hollstein claimed his driver didn't realize he had hit my car. I was willing to settle with them so they would pay out of pocket for the damages but then they became unresponsive so I had to go through insurance. I don't really care about their roofing expertise because it seems like they're not people I would ever want to do business with.

Per our phone conversation they were to come out to give me an estimate on replacing a roof. They never showed and never called. I made a follow-up call the following week and was told Rick was on another call and would call me back. He never did. Four days later, still no call. So I sent a complaint email through the company's web site and they responded that they were too busy.

Never apologized. Never offered to get right out and do the estimate they promised a week ago. Instead they offered to give me names of other roofers. Thanks. Yet more roofing companies who won't do what they say they will. What a way to run a business. Being busy is NOT a legitimate excuse to be unprofessional and disrespectful of one's time. If you can't do what you've promised then at the very least let the customer know and apologize.

If I acted like this at my job I'd be unemployed pretty quick. If you're really that busy then hire someone to help you. You'll be able to give proper customer service and help the local job market at the same time. What a concept.
