Our entire process was positive until we had a small leak. Looked like a 1/4 puncture. Not sure if something punctured from the outside or when the roof was installed a stone or screw went unnoticed before they installed the roofing material. Regardless they did the repair and the installer said it was no charge. Then Dura-last Inc sent us a bill for $564.00. This was a 20 minute repair. Even if you give Dura-last the benefit of the doubt and lets say it was an out of warranty repair $564.00 is a bit high don't you think.

This is a response to Matthew Diab's review from December 5th: Matthew: Thank you so much for your review of Duro-Last Roofing. It's always nice to get constructive feedback. I'd like to address a few points you made in your review. As far as "honoring our weak warranty", our "laughable" training class, our "giving roofs to reps friends", I'll let Duro-Last address those points if they choose to.
I'd like to point out a few discrepancies concerning your issues with me however. First, when you called me you told me that YOU owned TriState Masonry/ Seamless Roofing. I was not speaking to "your" roofer according to you. YOU were the roofer. Second, the project you and I were discussing was NOT your home. It was a 40,000 square foot new construction commercial building in Staten Island that you said you wanted to bid.as a roofer.
The project also happened to be one of Duro-Last's national accounts. I tried to explain how (and why) Duro-Last handles national account work but you were obviously not satisfied with my answer. In fact, you called me a "jerk-off" and hung up on me. I don't know where you came up with the "greasing" idea. That is a new one. As far as me being a "vile human who has no respect for roofers or clients".I'm not sure how you were able to come to that conclusion in a less than 5 minute long conversation. I'm sorry things didn't work out for you the way you wanted them to Matthew. I wish you all the best in 2020. Dean

We had two apartment roofs installed by Adept Roofing, a licensed contractor for Duro-Last in 2006. Since the roofs were installed a number of leaks had to be fixed by their company repair people. The fee for this was at first $100, then last few years $150. When I asked the company to inspect it this year (2019) they stated the fee would be $750. This was never stated in their contract or guarantee. I would not recommend Duro-Last for any future work.

Fantastic company with a great company culture. I came into town a day early to undergo manufacturer training with Durolast and I have been so impressed with the quality and strength of the team here. Everyone that we met were so helpful and informative. This is a company that has put a lot of thought into the design and quality of the products that they build and distribute. Highly recommend.

We are very thankful to have found Duro-Last. They are the only flat roofing manufacturer who has a warranty that will pay to repair damages caused by a leak in their system. They are also the only manufacture to prefabricate both the deck-sheets that go on the flat part of the roof and all the flashings like HVAC curbs and parapet walls. They use PVC in their membranes which has had the same time-tested formulation for almost 40 years and not TPO which has been reformulated 3X in approximately 20 years due to premature cracking.
It's very difficult for a roofing contractor to stand behind their work if the manufacturer does not stand behind their roofing system and in the 7 years we have offered Duro-Last they have been absolutely great to work with.

We had a Durolast Roof applied to a historical building with parapet walls in November 2003. The roofer plugged one of the drains with roofing caulk and created ponding water on about 15% of the building and we did not pay the final $2000.00 of the bill because the repairs to find the blockage on a 3 story historical building were very high. The roof started needing patches and the roofer wrote to Durolast and said we didn't pay the bill so they voided warranty. Roofer had license revoked and was hired by Durolast.
Serious failure began in the 11th year and total failure in the 13th year. Hundreds of circular cracks. Do some research about Durolast failures with pictures on the contractors blog and the many ways DL can and do buck the warranty.

Back in the 1990's we put on several Duo-last roofs. The product was ahead of it's times as far as flat roofs go but they kept forgetting pieces and parts in the shipments and charged us when we ordered replacement parts. This small detail stood in the way of our continued relationship. When we unloaded the entire roof system, prefabricated to be assembled on a particular roof we knew parts were missing. They told us they don't make mistakes.
