This is the highest-priced roofer on the Central Coast. They are supposed to be the best. I know nothing about roofs; I just knew we needed one. Given their high cost and the fact that they are licensed contractors, I would've preferred, not just smack-dab a roof, but some advice on what would need to be done before a new roof could be successfully installed on an old house.

I guess they thought it wouldn't matter because we are senior citizens who would not live long enough to reap the benefits of contractors doing the right thing. How was I supposed to know that we should have fixed our siding BEFORE getting a new roof? Was I supposed to climb up and inspect to make sure they installed new sheet metal at the junctures, as was in their contract?

They didn't, and a general contractor friend inspected and found this out, so Quaglino grudgingly came out, tore away a bunch of siding and installed the promised new sheet metal. They installed white roofing over a flatter part of our roof, while the rest of the roof was brown. They said they happened to have it, so they needed to use it. Finally, they came out and put in brown.

We have an upstairs deck, and we removed the slatted deck floor so they could roof under it. I guess they forgot how to used a level because one edge of that roof got a big puddle on it the first time we had wet fog. After the first rain, all three of our skylights leaked around the edges, and that was apparently our fault for having skylights. Grudgingly, they came out and repaired that. I could probably think of more reasons why I can't recommend this company, but I'll stop here. If you need roofing done, don't waste your money on Quaglino.

They were the only company out of 5 that I called who would put me on their list for an estimate. It took quite awhile for them to come out, but they told me it would be during my first phone call. Our repair was very quick and their employees were professional every step of the way.

I am an out-of-town owner of a property my daughter lives in while attending Cal-Poly. I noticed there were major leaks in the roof while we were buying the home in the Spring of 2014, but I put off fixing it while I dealt with all the other improvements the house and foundation needed. When I realized rains were forecast for late November, I remembered my leaky roof and searched Yelp for a local roofer.

I left a message with Quaglino's, despite their underwhelming rating on Yelp. Josh called back almost immediately and told me they were super-busy, but he would try to squeeze my project in, and he did. He called me several times later that day during the repair process, keeping me informed and letting me make decisions on how I wanted things done.

He was on the roof while describing what he saw, and offered suggestions on the best way his team could fix and improve things. I agreed and a few hours later the whole project was complete. Later that week, the town was deluged with heavy rains, yet we had no leaks in the house. Hooray! I give them 5-stars for four reasons: great communications, quick response, solid workmanship and reasonable prices.

I think the roof turned out ok but now the gutters have to be redone. Roofers leaned their laddres against many sections of gutter and they are all bent. Quaglino said too bad. Ugh.

The roofer doing our SLO house. They were super nice and flexible and totally worked with our ridiculosly tight schedule! Plus they gave us samples to take home and had candy in their office.
