My original relationship with Ron McKenna and DeckTech years ago went well and they went the second mile to help me resurface my deck. The maintenance went well until this last year. I had a leak last January and had a hard time getting them out to patch it. I found the source myself and did a temporary patch. Saul Prado, his maintenance man, eventually came and did his version of a patch, which leaked and I again had to alter.

He promised to return when weather was better to permanently fix the spot. Multiple calls to Saul and texts to Ron did not resolve the problem. Saul simply did not respond to anything. Ron said the manufacturer was not responsible and that I had cancelled the maintenance, which I did not. He also said Saul was quitting at the end of year. My only contract was with Ron, not Saul.

I considered Ron's responses to be rude and and a bailout for him. I'm guessing the pandemic has had a negative effect on his business and he's just dumping accounts as he likes. I would definitely NOT recommend DeckTeck now.

We cannot say enough positive things about how Ron and his crew replaced our roof top deck. From the initial inspection to the finished product, the communication and the workmanship were stellar. Ron put us at ease by explaining the entire process from start to finish. All the employees are true craftsman who take pride in their work. Saul kept in touch with us on a regular basis to let us know how the work was progressing.

Frequent photos and videos were provided to keep us informed. After seeing the work required, we could see how the cost of the replacement was justified. We are very pleased with the completed work and would highly recommend DeckTech to anyone.

Critical: Professionalism I don't usually leave reviews but have honestly never had the customer service situation from someone as I had with Ron. I would not recommend anyone call this Company and can only imagine if I had issues in years to come how it would be handled so beware of that if you are considering using them. I was appalled.

We had a fantastic experience with Ron and his crew. We had a deck completely rebuilt in SLO. We were never there and to this date I have never met Ron. However, we communicated constantly via text and email. Ron was great to work with. In our case, we were rebuilding a deteriorated 22 year old deck that was on the front of the house. So the quality of construction mattered a great deal to the overall look of the house. Ron promised that the restored deck would restore the original beauty to the house.

He and his crew delivered! The new deck is great, beautiful, and low maintenance. Now, it wasn't inexpensive, but I am confident it will last. Before you build your deck with another company, I encourage you to talk with Ron. He is extremely knowledgeable and the quality of his work is outstanding.

We needed repairs on 3 decks. Ron suggested some design changes and we agreed. The job took a while - rain delays and extremely busy building season in SLO - but the result is outstanding. All our guests have expressed admiration for the results. The dedication to the job of Saul, the crew chief, was notable. We are extremely pleased.

Our HOA needed to replace two full deck assemblies and remediate water damage to structural and architectural beams. We received bids from several sources and ultimately selected DeckTech, Inc for their detailed onsite inspection and estimate. Their project proposal included photos of problem areas with recommendations and detailed quotes, which allowed us to easily demonstrate the project needs to HOA board members and owners. Ron McKenna, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and with his nearly immediate response-time, you'd think he never sleeps! Ron kept our HOA updated with project timelines and was ever-available to answer questions. Ron even followed up the completion of the project with his own post-project inspection of DeckTech's work, took a video of each area with descriptions of the work completed, and emailed them to our HOA for review. We truly had a fabulous experience with DeckTech, and we plan to use them for future projects. I highly recommend Ron McKenna and DeckTech!

If you have a waterproof deck that needs maintenance or a fresh coat of waterproofing, you should speak with Ron McKenna at DeckTech, Inc. Ron and the DeckTech employees are professionals who know the Central Coast environment and weather and can tailor a plan to repair or recondition your waterproof deck. My husband and I thank the DeckTech crew for doing just that for us. We are pleased with DeckTech's work and feel we have helped to protect our investment.

We used DeckTech to redo our decks and flat roofs at our condo complex. They did an excellent job of diagnosing our deck problems, making the necessary repairs and finishing with the coatings on the decks and roofs. The work was started on time, but dragged over a few days due to staffing levels. Ron was very responsive and they did a really good job. I'd recommend them to anyone else with flat roofs or decks that require a coating to be watertight. They should also be listed in roofing, in addition to decks. With all the wet weather, its been a relief to know our roofs and decks are watertight.

I really don't think we can say enough good things about Ron McKenna and his crew at Decktech. The presentation and information given to us in the beginning explained all that was going to occur during the process of rebuilding our front deck patio. The daily updates from demolition to completion of the project was comforting and very much appreciated. Ron's design knowledge and experience saved us both time and dollars.

We found Ron's crew to be respectful, neat, friendly, and excellent skilled craftsmen. Irene in the office was so easy to work with and such an asset to the company. It all starts at the top, so Ron thank you for your reliability, integrity, and professionalism. We are so grateful you were there to help us get through it all. You and your company are "first-rate" and we would highly recommend you to others.

Decktech wowed both my clients and myself in a recent escrow. They removed and rebuilt the entire waterproof deck over the garage within our timeline. They were professional, communicative, and met the deadline! I will continue to refer their services to my clients.

Very bad experience with DeckTeck. I'm a maintenance supervisor for a company that hired DeckTech to do our decks. They did not do a good job there were leaks in the second floor, and the stairwell, under the stairwell is a storage room that got filled with mold because of the leaks. I reached out to DeckTeck 3 times and spoke with a gentleman by the name of Saul who assured me that he would go out and check for leaks and bubbles in the deck, we were supposed to meet on a Tuesday he never showed up. Very very disappointed I strongly urge people to not use this company as we will take our business elsewhere. Very unprofessional.

Ron and Irene are great! Called back scheduled promptly and were on time. Ron said we didn't need their services it was an easy DYI project and even emailed back with the recommendations he made. Truly impressive!

In constructing our building, Valentina Suites, built in 2008, the tiled decks and corridors were a priority, as they required great attention to detail in making sure they were completely waterproofed and of the highest quality. We chose Decktech for a reason - they're the best. Over 8 years later, the decks are in outstanding condition. The state-of-the-art technology that they used on this job was top notch.

This company looked at specific waterproofing procedures and understands that there is a value to protect projects (and customers) in the long term. All of the employees have exceptional expertise and their efficient, no-nonsense work ethic gave us great confidence that we had chosen the most talented company for our building.

We has difficult deck problem involving dry rot. It required rebuildiing parts of it. The final result was just what we wanted. The follow up on an unexpected problem was right on. There was never a question about Decktech's warranty. The workers are all good to work with and clean up was perfect every day. We give the company an A+. We would be happy to refer Decktech to our friends, for sure.

I normally don't leave reviews unless the service or product I use is terrible. But, I have to praise the job DeckTech did resurfacing the front deck at my beach house rental. They cleaned up every day and finished the job when promised. I even had renters staying at the home while work was being performed and they didn't even notice. I had multiple bids and they were within the average price as I never go with the most expensive or cheapest bid when hiring contractors.

I also make sure they have a Contractors License that is up to date and no judgements against them. You can find this information at http://www.cslb.ca.gov. Make sure the License covers the work you are having performed. The deck came out perfect and the annual service agreement they offer is well worth insuring your investment.
