It sounds like a company that wants to upsale/high pressure sale you the roof. I am looking for a roof replacement for a rental property. Why do I need to be there? I told them them that the tenant will be there to let them in and we can communicate by phone or email. Apparently, that's a no go for them. Too bad! I wanted to give them a try.

I bought a house this year without a roof inspection (Biggest L of the year), but this team was able to replace the entire flat roof in one day. So happy that I don't have to deal with any more leaks!

This company is Amazing! My husband and I needed to replace our 20 year old roof. We had heard so many great things about Certified, Inc., and their great customer service and quality of work; so we called. The crew was so friendly and knowledgeable and before they left they made sure the yard was completely cleaned up and that we were happy with the installation. I would recommend this company to anyone.they are no pressure, they took the time explain everything and they are honest! Thank you so much. I love my roof!

Quickly provided an estimate, excellent communication with the customer, and their warranty looks to be the best in the business. Their pricing was very comparable to other quotes, but the quality and efficiency of the install means I'd recommend them to anyone looking to replace their roof. My only frustration was the pricing for the decking if it needs replacement, it adds up quick and was higher than i was anticipating.

By the time I connected with Certified, I had already gone through at least 3-4 window presentations. If your not familiar with the process, it's mostly full of high pressure sales tactics and overprices proposals. The folks at Certified did not take the approach. The owner of the company came out to do the survey. His approach was simple: we will provide you with quality windows at a fair price and customer service to ensure your satisfied. Certified delivered on all of these.
Their pricing 20% to 50% less than anything we had received from the big name companies. The windows arrived earlier than expected, so the job was completed sooner than we were initially told. Quality of the windows is great and I trust that if we have any warranty issues that Certified will hold up their end of the deal. We had a few workmanship issues (mostly caulking) that we didn't catch right away, but when this was pointed out to their team, they quickly sent someone out to check it out, and a crew was out the following day to make the repairs. Overall a great experience. Big thanks to Tom, Diane, Koo, and The Crew.

Tom was readily available for a free roofing estimate and after a thorough inspection of our current roof he walked me through a detailed step-by-step plan for our new roof and Certified's exceptional warranty. He responded quickly by phone and email to all of our questions and he and Javier, his foreman, were there for us as we worked to temporarily seal leaks prior to our roof replacement.
Our roof and gutters were replaced by Certified with exceptional detail and care and both look absolutely amazing. We have already gotten so many compliments from neighbors. Our expectations were completely exceeded. The process could not have been easier and we had support and excellent communication through the entire process. We love the incredible roof and gutters we now have. We fully recommend Certified. Tom and his crew are fantastic!

4.5/5.0 Certified put a new roof on my little bungalow after all the February rain. In my purchasing process, I met with 4 different roofing companies (both big companies and local), and went with Certified because of the VERY fair price and that we met with Tom, the owner. He walked us through the great product and the contract. He was the only contractor who noticed that I need more venting on the house! Overall, the work was great, so was the team and the clean up.
My 1/2 star hold back is that the "closing" process didn't happen - as there wasn't a final walk through; however, that is not a deal breaker. I sincerely recommend Certified and their honest, high quality and fair work.

Certified put a new TPO roof on my house and did some other things, such as replacing an old skylight. Tom gave the most thorough and detailed bid that included a few extra things that the other bids did not. I went with this bid even though it was significantly more expensive. Part of the reason I did so is because they work with the solar company I'm using to put panels on my house.
The roofing job was done quickly, but I had to call them back to address a few issues, such as putting on a chimney cap and cleaning up the yard, which they promptly did. I was disappointed, however, that even though Tom had said they would put tarps down in the yard to catch falling debris, the crew did not do this. They did attempt to clean up afterwards and returned the next day after I pointed out that there was still a lot of debris. Needless to say, I'm still finding nails and bits of roofing matter such as chunks of tar in my garden.
I was unhappy with the darker skylight they put on, but they quickly resolved that issue and put on another one. I think I had higher expectations for such a pricey job. I think the roof is probably fine, but some of the work seemed a little sloppy.

I had a roof installed by Certified about 10 years ago. During that time, I've had other contractors do work on my house- siding in particular. More than one siding contractor noted the quality of the roof install. Certified's support of their customers is the best I've ever had from any contractor. First, they came out to correct an issue when a wood stove installer cut a hole in the roof and didn't properly install/flash the chimney. Second, they corrected an issue when a stove exhaust was improperly installed by another contractor (ok, this was the home owner- me- I tried my hand at roofing and screwed it up). Third, they graciously agreed to replace two old old skylights that I should have replaced during the roof install- they asked, but I was being cheap and kept the old units- well, they started leaking. Usually, Certified doesn't deal in such low-volume work (two skylights), and they could have walked away from it.
But because I was an existing customer, they took care of me. Notice that each of these issues were introduced by another contractor, or the homeowner, not Certified. They take care of their customer. So many companies are not, particularly after the point of sale. Highly recommended. Now only if they installed exterior doors too.

I had a full roof replacement in a historic neighborhood in Foxhall Village and I could not be happier with the work of Certified, Inc. I tried several other roofers -- just to get a quote-- several didn't even show up! I'm glad because and I choose Certified as they came out quickly, the owner was very hands on with my project and tried to propose solutions that would help my small budget.
In the end the historic permitting office proved to be a tough customer, but Certified was able to secure permits and complete the work of a new slate roof in the dead of Winter in less than a week. Their office did a great job of communicating with me and the guys that showed up on site were amazing! The foreman was very perfessional and even my picky neighbors complimented the work. I would highly reccommend their work to anyone-- especially in my historic DC neighborhood.

I met with Tom (owner) after meeting with several other roofing companies. He walked me through the CertainTeed product line and addressed all of my questions. Certified Inc. is a factory certified installer of CertainTeed shingles and is able to provide a very comprehensive warranty. Tom was knowledgeable and hands-on, and his many years of experience in the roofing industry were the primary reasons I chose to go with Certified Inc.

Tarps were used to protect my deck and landscaping. Clean-up of debris was thorough and magnets were used to remove stray nails from the lawn and driveway. Tom at Certified and his team, particularly Javier and Juan Carlos, delivered an honest, timely and quality job on our flatroof and deck. We received quotes from 8 different vendors, and Tom was the most professional, thorough and communicative, and provided a quote on the spot. Certified also provided the most competitive pricing considering the level of quality of replacement work: TPO flatroof, DecTec deck roofing/flooring (their team helped install our new stainless steal deck system), skylight, mansard shingles and drip edge.
When we pointed out areas that were a bit disheveled during the job, they responded very promptly and with detail to ensure everything was cleaned up. Needless to say, we highly recommend Certified.

Tom provided a quick and accurate estimate. No hard sales tactics here. He provided a clear scope of work with clearly delineated steps in the contract documents. The inability to address the flashing without complete siding replacement was a concern but I appreciate the fact that he called out that there wasn't much he could do about it. Other roofers I spoke with weren't so scrupulous.
They put in their contract that they would replace all flashing but when pressed on it said they would only do so "if needed". Jose, Carlos, and team were efficient and did a great job cleaning up after the job was complete. The new roof and gutters look great.

My bad experience with Certified echoes a couple of reviews below. If follow-up work is involved, they will likely treat you like dirt. To add to my comments that follow, Certified's Tom told me I was the first person to complain about a service call. Wrong, as seen in earlier reviews. If you might be tempted to complain about the costs of an out of warranty service call, don't use this company.
I suggested to them that the admittedly agreed upon $350 price for some repairs was excessive given the less than half hour of shingles replacement effort that took place. I asked for a price reduction. They refused. I later informed them by letter--enclosing a check for the full amount required-- that I would post on social media my dissatisfaction with what I considered their inflexibility and excessive charge.
I then received a call from a Tom who opined that I was "immoral" for complaining. I suggested I had a right to an opinion. He eventually shouted that my warranty was 'null and void' and hung up on me. If you are not submissive, think twice about dealing with Certified.

My wife and I are very pleased with the workmanship, speed, quality and service of the whole team at Certified. From our first contact with James, the whole experience was very straight forward and easy. Our neighborhood had been hit by a hailstorm so many of our neighbors were having their roofs replaced. We got two other quotes but the majority of our neighbors contracted with the Certified so it was easy to see first-hand the quality of their work. Plus there were no complaints! James and his office support are all great to work with. We highly recommend them!
