T R Construction

TR Construction put a new roof on our rental in August of 2021 and we were so pleased with their work we also had them put a new roof on our own house in April of this year, 2022. They all were professionals who didn't mind answering our questions. Everyone, from the initial call to the office to the actual roofer, were so polite and understanding. Even the cleanup crew was meticulous in making sure nothing was left behind.

Our house project is finally complete and we couldn't be happier with the work done by TR CONSTRUCTION! We had decided to upgrade our house instead of selling. Our projects included adding 238 sq feet to the existing family room; scraping the popcorn ceilings throughout the house; demo stone fireplace and add new tile from floor to ceiling; build new patio area (slab and cover); remove all wood areas on exterior of house and replace with stucco; upgrade electrical panel; paint exterior of the house and most interior areas.

In addition, we had them demo our old "wood" retaining wall and had them push our hill back about 3-4 feet and build a new concrete retaining wall. TR Construction also ensured we had proper drainage in the back yard so that any water would flow away from the house. These folks are awesome! All of the office staff are very responsive; sub-contractors (framers, demo, drywall, electricians and concrete crews, etc) are masters of their trade and everyone is very professional and polite.

Our project took 5 1/2 months instead of 4 1/2 but that's understandable because of the additional work that needed to done (which was agreed upon by all parties before hand).

We were finally able to replace our torch down roof that caused us many problems over the past few years. Mike was awesome! He came out, did an inspection and pinpointed exactly where the problems were. Office staff was friendly and communicative. The work was completed this week and I have to also say their crew was thorough and cleaned up everything. We have a warranty now and have peace of mind.

Our roof sprung a leak after the major rainstorm in December. After 30+ years, our roof was due to be replaced. We decided on a whole roof replacement (i.e. paper and all new tiles). We selected 4 companies to get an estimate. After checking construction licenses, proof of insurance and reviews, we narrowed it down to 2 companies. We chose TR construction due to the fact that there was no upselling.

They didn't call me at all hours hounding me about choosing them. And talking to them, they seemed more knowledgeable than the other company. From the time we signed the contract to actual repairs took about 2 months but that was due to waiting for our roof tiles from the manufacturer. Actual repair and replacement took about 2 weeks, due to the intermittent rain during the repairs.

The whole process exceeded our expectations. TR Construction took the stress level out of the whole process for us. Everyone was professional and worked diligently to get our roof finished. Our yard was cleaned up daily. The ending invoice was about 2K over the contract price but that was due to the large amount of wood that needed to be replaced on our home due to termite damage. And it was a lot of wood. Our roof looks awesome. We will definitely look to TR Construction for any future construction needs on our home. We highly recommend this company

We had water leakage due to improperly installed siding. TR Construction looked at the damage, made a quote which we accepted and completed the work promptly and correctly. They were professional and timely. We will consider them in the future because we are quite satisfied with their work.

TR Construction is excellent! I really appreciated the detailed estimate which included information about projected time to begin and complete my roofing repair project. Each time I called the office, I was able to speak to a real person right away. They were also honest. I thought I needed more work done than was actually necessary, and they were kind enough to let me know what wasn't needed. The 10-year warranty gives me piece of mind and tells me that they stand behind their work.

TR construction was great and easy to work with and was very affordable compared to others. They finished our roof very quickly, the crew was friendly, and they picked up all their trash. Was very grateful to have had this company out. I'm the future will will contact them again for future projects as they do a vast majority of anything pertaining to remodels.

My experience working with TR Construction was awesome! Mike Hernandez was friendly, professional, he explained the process and timeline. Their quote was competitive with other companies. They completed the work in a timely manner, picked up the old skylights and I paid over the phone. I'll contact them in the future when I need their services. I'm also a Realtor, so I'll be referring them to my clients and to other Realtors I know throughout the county.

We used TR Construction when we wanted a new roof in 2002 and were very pleased with all aspects of their work, so it only made sense when we needed minor roofing repairs, recently that we reached out to them again. TR Construction installed a retaining wall for us and did an amazing job! The crew dug everything out by hand; reinforced the wall with rebar, concrete, backfilled it and sealed it with a water barrier. We also had them repair a leak in our main bathroom; they had to demo everything and when the work was done, it was BEAUTIFUL!

Tony and his company are absolutely fabulous to work with. Always showed up on time, very professional, super nice guys. We had a patio cover built in our backyard and they also put on a new roof. The quality is absolutely outstanding. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We have an older roof that had numerous leaks over the years in different parts of the roof needed a complete Tile Felt Relay to resolve/avoid further problems. I had used TR in the past and for spot repairs and adding some rain gutters and was satisfied with their work. Their price was very competitive with other bids I received. The TR staff that worked on our roof (Jamie being the lead) could not have been more professional and responsive to our needs and questions.

The job-site was cleaned up every day before they left and they they met their estimated schedule despite some rain during the install. We would highly recommend them and are very satisfied!

Our roof was leaking so we called for a repair. I asked the roofers to check the condition overall. After investigating and taking photos, we agreed that a roof replacement was in order. TR got us on the docket and followed up with pretty good communication. Because we had solar panels that needed to be removed and then replaced, the job took a bit longer.

All in all, it was about 4-5 weeks from the initial investigation to getting bids, to finishing the project. Outstanding workers were: Teresa (office), father and son Michaels (management), Rudy and Jose (roofers). The roofers were amazing: prompt, diligent, mutually cooperative, and careful to clean up. The solar guy also made an extra trip to replace some parts he knew were faulty.

Obviously TR Construction must treat their employees well because their employees give their very best effort. Even though the cost of this kind of job was "through the roof, " so to speak, we couldn't have had a company more deserving of the payment.

Everyone in TR Construction are very helpful and respectful to us as a customer. Dealing with them is very simple and the price of their excellent job is very reasonable. TR Construction was an absolute pleasure to work with! Every person we spoke to and met were friendly and helpful. They were quick and reliable. We had several broken roof tiles that they replaced. Definitely recommend this company!

Great value! They did a very good job re-roofing a very complex multi-planed, steep roof on my Tudor style house. Half the roofers declined to offer a bid as they did not have the expertise to work on a steep roof, and many gave bids that were two or three times as much! As a result I ended up having to get many bids; TR came in at the best three.

I chose them for two reasons: they use their own staff so I didn't have to worry about contractors not being paid; and since they are roof specialists as well as a remodeling company, I knew they were capable of handling any unforeseen problems that could have surfaced on this old house. I was very thorough and careful in my screening process to make my short list, and just as careful in selecting the winning bidder.

Just based on my screening, I already loved this company before they even started the job, and they performed as I predicted - beautifully! In more ways than one; I was an A.S.I.D. designer so I'm aesthetically sensitive. Anyone would be remiss if they neglected to get a bid from TR Construction for their project. My roof's architectural design proved to be a sorting test that really separated the men from the boys. You can hire them with confidence!

The TRC Team exceeded my expectations from the project estimate phase with Mike through the project completion with the various TRC construction professionals. Great communication throughout the project with the roof professionals Mike and Ryan as well as Steve the professional carpenter. Although, my deadline was tight due to my upcoming house inspection, I was really impressed with Mike and Ryan's attention detail resolving several issues with my roof and not compromising the project deadline.

I couldn't be happier with the overall experience throughout this journey. Definitely, my go to contractor for future work. We decided to build an ADU and selected 4 companies to interview. Out of the four companies, TR Construction gave the best price. After checking referrals, we narrowed it down to two companies. In the end, Tony, the owner, gave us the most confidence because of his responsiveness and energy. These qualities were important to us because this was our first big project.

After our first meeting, Tony came back with an architect that knew the city's codes and helped us understand what was and was not allowed, and how the ADU could be positioned in the backyard. After those meetings, we went to see an addition that TR was building, and we were impressed by the quality of the construction. During construction TR used high quality materials and components.

We compared the quality of our ADU to that of an ADU that was built by flippers in our neighborhood. Seeing how the flipper's ADU was built, made us realize how sound the construction of our ADU is. There were challenges during the construction, which is expected in any project like this undergone during the pandemic. But, Tony always stayed true to the contract and addressed all our concerns in a timely manner. Additionally, Tony noticed that the roof of our own home did not have sufficient ventilation resulting in excess moisture in the attic causing leaks in the ceiling.

He fixed this at no extra charge. The end result has exceeded our expectations. Our ADU looks spacious, airy and styleful. Our guests and renters love it. Our experience with TR was a very pleasant one. We would recommend this company to anyone who wants to build an ADU or change/repair the roof. We loved the team and had a great click with the owner. Mike, Ryan and Angel were very professional in their work ensuring the job was completed to my satisfaction and the job site was clean. Had a really nice guy come out to quote us on new kitchen cabinets and wainscoting in two rooms. Received a call back letting me know that I need to look for another contractor and that they were busy. I asked if it was something that I can follow up on maybe next year since I could wait on my project and was told to call someone else. Not sure if they just didn't want to do the work for me or if my project was too small.

Either way it was a strange response with very little information. I wish they would have let me know on the initial phone call that they were not taking on new projects rather than wasting everyone's time with an in person quote.

This company is very responsive for roof repair and replacement. I have had to call on them a few times to handle emergency roof leaks on two homes we own in carmel valley and delmar mesa. I recently did a complete roof replacement and very happy with workmanship.

Just had my roof installed by TR Construction. The team of workers were amazing! The tear off team was meticulous with protecting my property from any roof debris. My entire yard had tarps and all debris was cleaned up. They also went to my neighbors to check there yard as well. The clean up was amazing. They were truly a professional team. The roofers exceeded my expectations.

I had TR Construction replace a part of my roof before adding panels. They had to delay one week because of rain but was able to come the following week and finished the job in a day. Roof looks great, Mike was great to work with and the price was fair.

We are very pleased with T.R. Construction. All employees were courteous and professional. Workmanship was in accordance with material supplier's instructions. Roofing was secured weathertight every evening. Heavy rain and strong winds encountered during the job were not a problem. My job was a lift and replace tile roofing. Mike was the project manager.

In the bidding process Mike was exceptional and made a good faith effort to pre-price wood replacement. His estimates were very close to the final count - amazing as much of the wood could not be inspected. Mike was careful to address all of our concerns. The single final inspection item was addressed within a few days. If you have a roofing project - I recommend you call these folks up and get a proposal. They were very competitive pricewise and we felt comfortable working with them. They did not disappoint.

Excellence is what describes TR Construction. From beginning to end our experience with TRC was excellent. We hired TRC to repair our roof that had started to reveal leakage after hard rains. They were professional and positive from first contact and scheduling to final cleanup. They were very knowledgeable and equipped to assess the root cause of our particular problem.

They were capable of articulating the problem and solution. They had a clear understanding of our roof materials and what was required to assure a quality result. They're workmanship was no less impressive. This is a company that knows what they are doing.

Roof Replacement/Repairs - Our current roof was almost 30 years old and was starting to develop some leaks and other issues. A family member recommended TR and we weren't disappointed. Mike H. and his counterpart (the roofers) did a great job replacing the entire roof and making all the necessary repairs. Mike was very forthcoming with pictures and videos to show us what he found and explain his concerns while also providing options on how to proceed.

He was also extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure we understood everything going on with the roof. As such, he was always very candid and gave an honest appraisal; there was never any push to do more than was needed or upsell. Overall, they did a great job and we feel confident that our roof will be in great shape for many years to come. Compared to some of the other roofs we've seen around the neighborhood that were repaired/replaced by other companies, these guys definitely did not cut any corners or do anything less than a great job.

While we did have an issue that popped up, However, Tony (the owner) personally showed up to meet with me and discuss it. He quickly addressed our concerns and made sure that we were 100% satisfied with all aspects of the job and process. It was great to see a business owner take the time to listen to concerns, take full responsibility, address the issue, and ensure that we were satisfied with the resolution. Working with TR was a positive experience and we would definitely recommend them to others (and will certainly consider them when it comes to other repairs or remodels).

I needed to repair a leaky roof after noticing it from the rain we've had about a month ago. TR Construction responded quickly after reaching out to them. Mike H. actually arrived earlier than the intended appointment time (a courtesy call would have been nice to warn me, because I was preoccupied before the appointment, but at the same time, he arrived early, so no real complaints there).

I showed him where the leak was, and traced how it flowed over our garage. Off the bat, he knew instantly where the issue was and what needed to be done to replace it. Just to be sure, he tested it out before to confirm. In his words, he was able to "save me some headache and money." He explained where exactly the leak was, what needed to be done, and how I can fix it myself if I wanted to.

Since he was already there and knew what I needed, I asked if it's something he can go ahead and do if he had the materials already. Not only was he saving me a headache and money, but he was saving me time too, especially when I have a 6 month old that I am currently caring for. Not only did Mike repaired the needed area, he went around and checked the other areas to make sure they're still ok, and gave a little TLC for those too. Shortly after, we tested the leaky area and sure enough, it was resolved! Overall, I think Mike went above and beyond taking care of the issue. Thank you!

Tony and his crew just finished up our renovation and we couldn't be happier. All the workmen were polite and friendly and did great work. The office staff was easy to communicate with and prompt with responses. We really appreciated the fact that his company doesn't use subcontractors. They replaced our roof and facia boards, installed a window and remedied water damage from a leaky slider. We highly recommend TR Construction.

Terrible customer service, the two women who answer the phones and screen are of no help, emails are t returned. I dodged a bullet because this would have been detrimental during a huge remodel. It was a complete waste of time and I have no confidence that they would actually do quality work. Save yourself the hassle. *Edit-They never did a site visit, didn't look any any other quotes sent over because if they had they would see what we are looking for is a torch roof, or TPO roof. The comment below from them just further shows the disconnect from their customer service.

I contacted TR Construction for a major bathroom remodel bid. They scheduled an appointment with me, then didn't show up being almost an hour late saying they would reschedule. I called the next day to reschedule and then they said they wanted to wait until we closed escrow and were very rude about it. That would have been helpful information before I spent over an hour driving to the property and waiting for them. There are lots of bathroom remodel companies who I feel would appreciate the business more.

We had TR do a total house remodel of every room, including a new roof, Solar installation, electrical panel upgrade, plumbing re-pipe, re-stucco, and outdoor living area. And now we couldn't be happier with what is basically a new home. The whole team was great to work with as they took us through the whole process. Starting with the initial estimate from Tony, the owner, it was obvious that he cared greatly about making sure that we were completely happy with the every aspect of our remodel project.

In contrast to other remodeling contractors that had slick ads, showrooms and fancy seminar presentations with videos and wine and cheese telling us how great they executed remodel projects, Tony showed me real projects he had in various stages of completion. I spent a morning driving around north county following him in his truck to his building sites to see his crews in action on in-work projects and recently completed projects.

His enthusiasm for what he does showed and is what sold me. So we decided to listen to our gut feel and go with TR and in the end we weren't disappointed. That's not to say everything went perfectly with TR on our complex project. But the key point was how well TR dealt with problems - Tony listened, worked with us, was flexible and committed to professionally resolving every issue and made sure we were happy in the end.

We pretty much had daily contact with some member of the TR team for the duration of our project, and everyone in the office was friendly, responsive, and great to work with. The work crew of carpenters, roofers, painters, plumbers, and electricians were all conscientious pros and did quality work and many times went out of their way to do what was needed. Thank you TR! - we love our new home.
