Bay Area Re-Roofing

Bay Area Re-Roofing recently replaced our 28 year old roof and did an excellent job. The owner, Randy Martinez, came out in person every day to make sure things were on track. His wife, who is the office manager, was also very helpful. The job was completed on schedule. It turned out that the wood underneath our old roof needed a fair amount of repairing and there were a couple of areas in the eaves with dry rot. Randy's team repaired these areas, charging what I felt was a very reasonable amount.

A couple of small issues came up during the project, but Randy resolved them promptly and fairly. I was impressed with his professionalism and ethics. Also, he knew about a new type of ember resistant roof vent which he included in his estimate. This would help to protect our home in case of wildfire so to me this was a real plus. I feel very comfortable highly recommending this company.

I have used Bay Area Re-Roofing twice. The first time was to repair/seal a new roof penetration created for our electrical panel upgrade. Julio came out and did completed the work very well - I asked for before and after photos and Julio provided them, and another roofing company I work with looked at them and said the work was high quality. On that same call, I asked Julio about some dripping I was seeing behind rain gutters.

He diagnosed it as an issue with the angle of the lip that extends from the rain gutters under the shingles. He mentioned that they don't do rain gutters, so I asked another company to quote the work - and that company agreed with Julio's assessment. The second time I called out Bay Area Re-Roofing was for a leak from an attic vent. Julio came out again, invited me up to the roof to look at the issue, and then repaired the vent and improved the other vents in line with the needed fix.

He works fast and is super friendly. Randy is professional, responsive, explains things clearly, and tries to help in whatever way he and his crew can. Both of the times I've worked with Bay Area Re-Roofing, their prices have been reasonable and they've worked me into their schedule pretty quickly. Quality home repair and construction companies get busy around here, so you can't always expect them to be available same day. That said, it pays to be patient if possible for quality.

I felt in good hands working with Randy and his crew. Randy was very responsive to all of my questions which he thoroughly and patiently answered. I wanted to get solar installed afterwards and he worked really well with the solar company to coordinate installation of the solar mounts prior to the shingles. There was some unexpected work needed to repair dry rot and to remove a second layer of roofing. Randy itemized the extra cost which I thought was very fair. Randy's crew was very friendly and professional. I thought they took pride in their work and had an attention to detail that exceeded my expectations.

Randy is a true professional. His quote was competitive and it was reassuring to know that we were going with someone highly rated. The experience could not have been better - he explained the options clearly and his team showed up right on time, did a superb job and left everything spotless.

I found Bay Area Reroofing through Yelp. The owner (Randy) and crew are awesome. They were available to do the work 3 weeks earlier than we expected, and they did everything as promised. Randy makes himself available and was easy to reach by email and phone. He gave us updates and progress reports in a timely manner. We felt the price was very reasonable and fair.

He is also very knowledgeable. A previous contractor installed a poorly-performing bathroom vent, which was flapping and making too much noise in our windy area. He changed it to a better-performing vent without extra cost, and now, we can sleep without vent noise. They also thoroughly cleaned our house and yard after their work was complete. And they didn't use our trash can at all. (It's the little things, you know?). The new vents look great! A+, would work with them again.

Had a leak in the roof into dining room. BA Re-Roofing was responsive and informative. Being a small job Randy had to fit me in between his larger jobs. The worker he sent out was knowledgeable and got the job done quickly and efficiently. He even inspected the rest of the roof. Final cost was more than fair.

Wow! Randy and his team at Bay Area Re-Roofing are fantastic. We were in need of replacing two valleys on our roof. I contacted five different roofing companies and Bay Area Re-Roofing provided the best estimate. In addition, Randy made the entire transaction, installation and process seamless and flawless. He was able to provide a quote instantly by going onto Google Maps.

He followed up with mailing an estimate including his credentials, insurance and contractor license information. The installer, Tamasi came out promptly on time, was professional and performed the work with detail, care and craftsmanship. Randy took a look at the roof online, came by when he was in the area for another job, did the job with another guy in about 2-3 hours, sent the bill. It was quick and painless and within the estimate given. Really can't ask more from a roof repair company.

From estimate to competed job the company did a great job. Randy Martinez provided a detailed quote and his team installed our new roof in less than 4 days. They cleaned up every day and when they departed the yard was clean. I highly recommend Bay Area Re-Roofing

Something is very strange here. I had a roof leak during a storm in November '19. I called a few contractors and was told that there would be a $300 or greater charge to get an estimate which would credit towards the repair. I knew it was a relatively simple job. Then I talked to Randy at Bay Area Re-Roofing. No charge for an estimate was a good way to find out what I was dealing with. Randy showed up with a copy of my roof already available from the web.

He looked at the job and we chatted. The next day I got his estimate which was a time and materials with a maximum cost. Here's where it gets really strange. He called and said they'd be here in a couple of days weather permitting. Then he called and said they'd be here the next day. His guy showed up on time, did the job, explained what he had found, cleaned everything up incredibly well, and left.

Two days later I got the invoice. Even more amazing. The bill was 11% less than the estimate! How weird and crazy is that? It sounds unbelievable but it's true! Service like this seems to be a rare thing these days. Randy and Jeff exceeded my expectations so much that the next time I need a job done, I'm not wasting any time. I'm just going to call and have them do the work. They deserve a bonus star to make this a 6 star rating!

Randy and his crew were amazing to work with. Their quote was reasonable and they did a first rate job. The house looks amazing! They completed the work in less than a week, and left the premises clean and neat at the end of every day. They handled the inspection and everything was done without any hassle or problem. I've been meaning to write this for quite some time. We had Bay Area Re-Roofing provide us a completely new roof for our 34 year old home in Foster City. We had about 4-5 estimates from other roofers. Randy, by far, was the most informative and thorough roofing contractor. He and his crew are just amazing, from start to finish. We felt safe and well taken care of.

If you want an extremely honest roofer Randy is your guy. He came to give me a bid on re-roofing my 25 year old roof and was very honest and told me that I had a few more years left on it. I appreciated the honesty and I told him he will be the first one I call when it's time.

Randy and team did a nice job on our home improvement project. They have a wide selection of inventory (I didn't realize how many different types of shingles there are) and quite prompt in terms of scheduling. I particularly appreciate how they added additional ventilation slots which helps to keep the house cooler during the summer.

We just finished replacing our composite roof with Randy and his team at Bay Area Re-Roofing, Inc and are extremely happy with the result. Randy was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. He didn't use a sales pitch or email spam me with information, like some other companies did, but more information on the product and what we needed, which is what I really liked.

It's rare to encounter a company that operates with such a high degree of integrity and honesty. When we purchased our house, we were told that it had the original roof and would need to be replaced within the next few years. As we always do, we turned to Yelp and found Bay Area Re-Roofing. I sent a message to request a quote and Randy promptly responded.

We arranged to have him do an estimate and surprisingly found out that the roof had already been replaced! A check into the permit history confirmed it (though the address was misspelled - I'm guessing this caused the confusion in the 1st place). All told, Randy saved us probably $15K. Had he not told us, we would have replaced the whole thing without being any wiser. He was also incredibly gracious about it. When we do need to replace the roof, I will definitely be contacting Randy again.

Randy and Bay Area Re-Roofing deserves no fewer than 5 stars! They did my roofing back in September. From the very first free estimate when Randy came early and pointed out what should and should not be done to the existing roof, I knew I found the right company. Randy patiently explained all the technical details of various aspects from roof ventilation to keeping moisture away.

Most importantly, Randy didn't hard sell or up sell anything. He broke down the estimate in details and point out potential cost which was unknown until the existing roof was taken out. That really helped me make a wise decision without much surprises down the road. During the project they didn't rush to get the job completed in 2-3 days.

After they took off the existing roof, Randy told me what additional things needs to be done to get the roof more secure. And his crew was also punctual friendly and explained to me what was being done along the way. In the end, I felt very happy with the nice job they did on my roof from inside out in a week!

If you want super honest service, go with Randy. I bought a house and it was getting quite hot in the summer on the second floor. My general contractor inspected the roof and told me that I don't have ridge vents nor eyebrow vents and so the hot air gets trapped in the attic. Proposed solution: install a whole house fan and eyebrow vents for ventilation.

The contractor quoted me $1500 to install eyebrow vents. I shopped around via Yelp and Randy quoted me less then half of what my general contractor quoted. Here is where interesting part starts: after Randy inspected the roof, they found that I actually have a ridge vent! Randy was super cool and honest about it: his suggestion was to not mix up eyebrow vents with existing ridge vent; just install whole house fan as planned and venting should be fine. It's very nice that Randy didn't try to upsell me with more venting. I paid for their time and gas and ended up saving money.

When my roof developed leaks around the skylight I knew I had to do something about it. Fortunately for me we are in one of the worst droughts so for over a year and half it was not urgent to get it fixed, but I knew that would change. Based upon the glowing reviews on Yelp I contacted Bay Area Re-Roofing to get a quote. Randy Martinez came out and inspected the damage and provided me a quote for a complete re-roofing using GAF composite shingles instead of repairing or re-roofing with the original wood shake shingles.

I took exception to some of his statements that wood shakes were no longer being manufactured and interpreted this as pressure to go with a composite roof which I did not like as I knew better. That is why I did not select Bay Area Re-Roofing. Unfortunately I could not afford a total re-roof with composite shingles and wanted to keep the original wood shake roof as it breathes better in the summer and allows the house to become cooler than putting down sheets of plywood that trap the hot air in the summer months and require some kind of enhanced ventilation system to compensate for that while the shake roof allows the roof to breathe and allow the hot air to slowly escape in the summer months. So if you are looking for a total re-roof featuring GAF composite shingles Randy is your guy.
