Ridout Roofing

Just had my daughter's roof replaced by Ridout. Second time I've used them and I'm again completely happen with the result. They offered a very competitive price, and they did a beautiful, quick job, just 2 days total with a complete tear-off. On top of that, they're a union company with well-trained and fairly paid, insured workers, important considerations for me. Juan, Elias and his crew were great to work with, answering my questions as the roof required some dry rot repairs. They did exactly what they promised and left the place absolutely clean and tidy. I recommend Rideout without hesitation.

I started a process back in October of 2021 to have someone from Rideout Roofing fix a repair to our roof - they were the original roofing installer - so I called them at the beginning of 2021 to repair my roof - they came out supposedly to fix the leak & charged me $500.00 - (which I was fine with - then the rains started in October - & the leak was back - So I called them to have them come back - It's now June of 2022 - they promised me they would make another appointment - which they did not - it's now June & I called back - they put me in touch with the scheduling MGR (Juan) 7 he now just told he would not send someone out to fix our roof - DO NOT USE RIDEOUT ROOFING FOR YOUR ROOF JOB - WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE ROOFING COMPANY!

This company has been great in my experience. They did repairs today on our roof that leaked during the first storm of the winter. Dan came out, always friendly and professional, did a fantastic and thorough job. He has done repairs for us on another house as well. Ridout replaced a roof for us some years ago and did a good job then also. I highly recommend them!

Lady that I spoke with was really sweet and the staff go the job done fast and the price for the roof patch was moderately affordable. Great job

Ugh. Juan Herrera who "has been with the company 20 years" was hugely unprofessional and nasty to deal with. First he showed 45 minutes late for his estimate. Then refused to provide any professional guidance on where to place gutters and downspouts, repeating the ridiculous mantra "just tell me what you want." "Just tell me what you want." At one point he conceded the number of downspouts you install is important because of water volume and flow, then refused to help us figure out if 1 would suffice or if we needed 2.

If you dont want to deal with this kind of short fuse and lack of professionalism-- someone who puts a big smile on their face while being vicious and rude-- don't deal with this company.

This was our second excellent experience with Ridout. 6 years ago when our older shake roof had developed some holes, we got a bunch of estimates, and all of them told us that we needed a full replacement. Ridout told us that our roof was in good enough shape to be patched, and their work has held up nicely for the past 6 years. This year, I noticed a few beams of light coming into the attic, so called them again (we have crows cracking nuts on the roof and damaging the shakes). Again, Ridout came out and inspected the roof and felt that the damaged areas could be taken care of and get us a few more years. Daniel (who did the job last time) was incredible!

He was wonderful to deal with, work a mask when taking with me, and worked on the roof while I was viewing the underside from the attic - and patched all the visible holes. Then he spent another 2 hours repairing damaged shakes and inspecting the entire roof. The total cost was very reasonable. Overall a six star experience.

I purchased a home from a builder you worked with. I purchased the home August 2015. The builder built 57 homes that year in our development. I also told the person who answered your phones where I lived and they never denied you did not install the roof. I was told by the builder you installed the roof. Someone is not telling the truth.

Extremely unprofessional. They made promises that weren't kept and pretended they were going to do things that they didnt. Then they disappeared without explanation. They wasted a lot of my time. Run quickly away and try a different roofing company before you are sorry too.

Fantastic! More rain! After laying out enough buckets to fill the garage, it felt like it was time to replace the roof. I called Ridout Roofing on a Tuesday and they were out at my house the very next day. They were helpful, efficient and professional. Roof looks great and there hasn't been any issues. We are very happy and will use this company again.

We hired Ridout Roofing for our new construction roof and couldn't be happier with the experience start to finish. We had heard they are experts on complex roofs and we definitely would confirm this. They were able to accomplish our preferences while also providing design input on what would look and last best. They also helped us install solar and made the process so easy. When considering roofing companies it was a really tough decision. Since it's such a necessity and people only post when there are problems, most reviews were negative. Ultimately I was referred to Ridout Roofing via word of mouth from multiple contractors I know and trust. I felt compelled to provide Steve Ridout and his company a 5 star endorsement and share our experience. Steve personally took time to educate me on the positives and negatives of the options from type of gutters to facia and eve exposure to comp versus metal versus wood shake and shingle roofs.

Your architect and designer might have a certain vision but function, warranty and budget are things they sometimes overlook. Ridout really helped me understand my options and the associated costs. Their installers were professional even bringing their own bathroom to the job site. They left the site site cleaner than when they arrived. My wife and I love the look and function of our roof. We'd couldn't be happier.

0 star On one from rid out took responsibility. The job caused leaked and caused damaged cost me total $9000. I can show all evidence.

Steve And his team blew me away! We have a rental property in the east bay and we had been putting off replacing our roof for quite sometime Bc of the thought of headaches that seem to accompany most construction related projects and sometime financial stress as well. To our very pleasant surprise, we hired Steve and within the month, from consult to finished roof we were done. Unheard of, amazing, top notch service, products, paperwork, timeline, and our devoted renters said it was painless which we were dreading would have been just the opposite for them!

Highly recommend Steve and his team! His expertise and ability to educate you on the process, the popular and high demand options, cost effective short or long term depending on your needs and affordability! Can't say enough great things about this company! Highly recommend!

Asked for an estimate for replacing skylights. A rude man who cared not at all about understanding my questions came to the house. He said I would hear from him within a week. Six months later, not a peep.

Worst customer service experience ever. Property damage, incomplete work and cleanup. Zero on the ability to communicate professionally. If you want to feel like someone your paying over 25,000 dollars is doing you a favor hire them.

Very pleasantly surprised. Ridout was great! We did our research and got proposals from a number of roofing companies. We picked Ridout because of the value for the money and the professionalism of the company. So we were ready for Ridout to do a good job. But we were still surprised by how well the whole process went and how great the roof and gutters came out. The office people were very attentive and helpful. The roof crew and gutter crew were very professional, courteous, and quick. Ridout gets my strongest recommendation!

Bummed that this did not turn out better. They did a decent job tearing off the old roof, and the workers were splendid. I think the new roof is strong and water-tight now. Unfortunately, their quality control (oversight of the final steps of roofing) was not good. During the final stretch of roofing, as the roofing materials were put in place, the official troubleshooter Ridout sent to talk with me, and to explain what was being done, was defensive and dismissive. Tried to talk to the owner, but the front office insisted he was not available ever.

Tried to support local business but I think IT WAS A BAD IDEA! Their job is fine. I had to make few phone call to reminded their people to clean up all trashes and boxes left on my roof after the job done. They would only return your phone call if you call for the payment. ZERO communication after they got your money! NEVER return phone call nor e-mail! SO DISAPPOINTED! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!

After an initial difficulty in securing an appointment for gutter & valley cleaning and tile inspection, Ridout performed my requested inspections and repairs flawlessly, on time and came back to finish necessary repairs when they said they would. Great service in a crazy busy time due to el nino fears after no rain for 4 years I highly recommend these folks

Beware of this company! We had a suntube to install so two workers came into our house to our attic space to work on it. They installed it and very next day we were burglarized. We had a small fire safe up in the attic, took that and targeted just the master bedroom and closet. A police report was made but unfortunately no one was caught and none of my things were recovered.

I was a bit stressed when I was told by my contractor that I needed a new roof. I did my research and contacted 3 roofing companies in the bay area. All came out and gave me estimates and told me the latest and greatest in roofing materials. I decided to go with Ridout because of Rob Elliot. He was really professional, returned all of my emails and calls and he was really honest about what my home really needed.

He knew all about roofing and did not try to oversell me. The job was done in less then two days! His team had over 40 years of experience between them and though I work from home, they did not bother me and my dogs. They were really organized, worked clean and very friendly! I also like that they have been around for many years and are local. It just rained yesterday and there are no leaks! THANKS RIDOUT! YOU ARE THE BEST!

My recent experience (last 6 months) with Ridout Roofing has been problem free. As a real estate broker and property mgr I have used many roofing companies over the last 30 years. All and all I have been pleased with nearly every company in the east bay. Most companies share a similar problem though. They do fine work and are in demand from referrals. So, it sometimes happens these companies run behind schedule in appointments and estimates.

It's important to ask any company how backed up (plumber needed) they are when you call. It's always good to schedule several companies to provide estimates and scheduling issues. I will say that Ridout has been very good with estimates and quality of work since I used them over last 6 months. I will continue to use them. Keep in mind that roofing companies change their service over time. Estimators come and go.

It's wise to ask the estimator about his or her skills and experience. Rob Elliott has been providing me estimates at Ridout and he is well known in the business and has some 30 years experience from a family roofing business. Call him for an estimate.

The slowest roofing company, known to man. Seriously. I was told this would take 5 days complete, took 8. And I wasn't including the weekend, otherwise it would have been 10. They were to show up on Monday, they didn't. and on one day one of their roofers gave my mother attitude. Plus, one day they left SHOES on my roof. Yeah, kinda tacky much? I wouldn't recommend them.

I had Ridout do a roof for my newly remodeled home. Large single story home with a unique pitch in the back of the home. The crew that came out was very neat about the tear off of the existing (old) roof and quickly had the sheeting down for the new roof. The whole job was completed in a few days including new rain gutters and spouts. The price was very comparable to competitors.

My neighborhood has been going through new roofs around and I talked with them about their cost and found mine to be just slightly higher then the average roof, about 5%. What makes this interesting is I had just added a 1000 square feet to my single story home. After the job was complete we had some request about the finish to our overhangs and trim. Ridout was right on it with no issues and finished request.

I would recommend Ridout and will use them again for sure. I never understand the filtered reviews, Please check them for Ridout. I just did and many of the filtered here are 5 Star!

We had a roof repair done by Ridout. The work was adequate but very misleading. We were quoted a rate but the office person did not clarify it was "per worker". The person who takes calls at the office, who by the way is far from courteous, will quote you a labor "minimum" charge. The number of workers they send to your home will then double or triple that charge depending on how many workers arrive - very shady business practices. The workers presented no document stating this, and left the site without informing me the work was done. Stay away if you don't want surprises.

First, for anyone who wants to skip reading: I recommend Ridout Roofing if you just want to get the job done and timing isn't an issue. We had a small roof leak during the rainy period in December and used them. Background: I really did my research. There were two other roofing companies on Yelp with more stars but I went a step further and checked Better Business Bureau online (I don't know much about roofs, therefore the extra steps).

Both had some questionable issues and Ridout Roofing was neutral. Pros: nice people -- told me right away about the hourly rate -- got the job done -- haven't had any issues with the roof since. Cons: Rescheduling one too many times for a small leak, and I had to be the one to call after not hearing from the company on the day they said they'd call. Lackluster customer service (started off well and went downhill). No follow-up or thorough explanation of the work that happened during that hour on the roof.
