Best Chimney & Roofing

My rating of this company is a -10. They are real nice until they get your money. No customer service- you call, they are rude and just take a message and you never hear from anyone again. My chimney is leaking thanks to them, replaced my dampers with inferior parts. It has been two years now and still no call, must be because the part was under warranty and they couldn't charge anything. And the owner Jerry is the rudest of all.

Best Chimney competed my older large brick chimney in one day! The best part was they were also very competively priced. Ask for Doug!

I'm unclear as to what this company is "best"at. Site visit was rescheduled three times due to wind however they didn't even go on the roof when they did arrive. 10 days to receive a quote. I asked that his office set up to be a vendor so I could assign work, they were unable to complete that simple task. Communication is awful! May 2nd and I'm back to square one from the site visit that occurred 4/15. Would not recommend for anything!

Had an excellent experience! Crew came out and did my whole roof, tear off included in just a day, no problems. Quick and efficient. I will only use best for anything home improvement wise.

Received a quote from Chuck last September & when I called in March, they said they'd be out to do the porch repair for the same price, as soon as it was warm enough. A couple weeks later, I received a call on a Friday from Chad saying he'd be able to start work that Monday. He and another guy removed and replaced the large, busted steps without damaging my existing wooden railing, patched and replaced pieces of the cement cap, adding a clean, fresh layer of cement on top, filling a bunch of cracks between bricks that had settled, and reattaching my downspout.

These guys went above and beyond and had most of it done in one day. An added bonus - I worked from home that day, and I barely heard a peep. Very respectful, mindful of my property and neighbors. Good-looking, fast work for a reasonable price.

Awesome company did a fabulous job on my repair chimney was breaking apart due to high efficiency furnace they came repaired all the brick and installed a metal liner to keep it from reoccurring would recommend to anyone that needs this type of work done

I had the most fantastic experience with Best Chimney & Roofing Co. Everybody from the Char on the phone, to Charles who came and gave the estimate to Shawn and his partner who did the work exceeded my expectations. I needed the crown on my chimney replaced for a liner installation that was happening that day and they went out of the their way to get that completed saving me several 4 hour trips.

By 12:30 that afternoon the job was complete. They even worked with the furnace installers to help put the liner down the Chimney after they had repaired the crown. I can not say enough about how happy and am with their service.

Chimney was damaged in a storm and thought last contractor would want to repair it. They were too busy but said they would follow up. A month later, still no follow-up, tried again to have the work done. Still too busy. Same deal, try again a month later, too busy for work. Terrible job. Your chimney rebuild, done only four years ago, fell apart in a storm. My flue cap is gone, the upper trap is rusted and the mortar holes have left opportunity for Yellowjackets to infiltrate. $1200 later, I should have a working chimney again.

SO FAR WE ARE OUT 1600$ FOR NOTHING.on 11/16/2018 we paid Best Chimney $1,590.00 for a "custom made chase cover" that Chris said we needed. During a windy day, 02/25/2019, It became apparent that the cover did not fit. The cover was loose and blowing around in the wind. My husband climbed up and saw that the cover had only been secured with 2 screws and was barely hanging.

We called and the company and they sent Ken out the next day since he took the original measurements and installed it. (Why he tried installing it when he KNEW that it did not fit is fraud in my opinion.) He tried to make it fit but could not and said he would send someone else out to measure it again. No one must have been available because Ken came back on a day while we were gone and took off the cover and left a thin clear sheet of plastic in its place. 2 weeks later and we still have plastic blowing in the wind and water from when it rained that seeped down to our basement.

We have called and spoke to Chris and different people but they have not come back out. The last we heard from Ken is that he gave our cover to "someone else to fix". Well if he could not do it right the first time then that makes sense but we have no idea when or if it will be fixed. The first person who came out, Chris was talking as if he owns the business but when we called about our issue he was very quick to claim that he is just a guy who works there and just collects a check.

If anyone else has any idea who actually runs things than please post it here because no one wants to take responsibility. Now we just hope we do not have to have work done on our basement because of the water that leaks down the chimney when it rains.

Note: their webpage claims their license through the state of Michigan. I have searched all throughout the state of Michigan website and I cannot find their company listed under Best Chimney and Roofing. Beware! They did not come out at the scheduled time because of rain. That is understandable. But they never told me when they were rescheduling for.

When you call them someone just takes a message and says they will give your message to "someone". They have no information to give you except to say that the crews are all very very busy. They make it very obvious that they do not need your business. No one returned my calls or messages. A week later someone from Best came out totally unscheduled without a callback and came on my property without any home.

They left invoice in my mailbox. Well I'm not sure what I am paying for and no one answers any questions. The hypocritical part is that their webpage claims to be family owned and they will always explain what's happening in your service from them and give you great services etc. Well that is 100% a lie. And by the way my chimney still leaks. I've called another company and already the experience has been much better communicating with them instead. I should have read reviews first.
