We were facing a near emergency on a siding project that had been delayed for almost 6 months when we decided to switch contractors and hire Siding - 1. After contacting Jim and he was aware of the work that needed to be completed, they stepped in to make sure the project was done in a timely manor. Their contractors were super efficient, very professional and kept the work space clean.

After dealing with a headache of almost 6 months Siding-1 was able to finish the complete house in just a few weeks and the end result looks amazing. I would highly recommend them for any siding work you may need on your home. My only regret is that we didn't hire them sooner.

I have a hard time understanding how anyone could have a bad experience with this company. I called for an estimate on siding replacement on a commercial building in the NW suburbs of Chicago. Someone came out right away and within a few days I had a proposal with a few options. Once the proposal was approved and a 50% deposit was given, it was only a few weeks until the job was complete.

The workers were clean, friendly and most of all, they cleaned up after themselves each day. The work was done very well and you could tell this was not their first rodeo. Once the job was completed, the remainder was paid and we were completely satisfied. I don't think things could have been more professional or timely. I would recommend these guys to anyone. 4/2/2019 Updated Review: The owner Jim Johnson replied to our below review and said please contact our office to address this matter while we been in contact with him for several months now and neither we got the windows installed nor our money back. This is a misleading response to the readers. Whenever we contact Jim, he says we will give you a call tomorrow and either we don't receive the call or he postpones it and this is going for 4 months now.

We perceive this as a fraudulent transaction. Jim, if you really honest about what you said return our money immediately. You know where we live and how much we paid you and how much you took from the bank. Took about 2/3 of the money and no windows installed. Contract was in December 2018 installation was supposed to be on 1/9/2019 and failed to get permit and did not install the windows. We requested money back and sure enough we did not get to date. Contract was for $14000. We are proceeding with legal options.

Stay away is right! The owner Jim is rude with no care of his clients. Though he bought the business 6 years ago I guess all the money spent replacing roof, siding and windows 17 years go doesn't count as my very expensive bay window is rotting away already. after having two local carpenter saying the same thing. that they were never sealed. It took 6 weeks and continual calls to even speak with him only to hear how he is not responsible for it.

Who is? The business might have been good at one time but not today. I would never recomend as the owner does not stand behind his work. When he bought business he bought old clients also.

I've used Siding 1 several times and have always had a good experience. They are affordable compared to Pella and Sears and offer quality, unique products with a long term warranty. Keith in Sales was honest and no pressure. Jerri with the install team is amazing and provides excellent service every visit. I highly recommend Siding 1 for Windows & doors

Extremely happy with the work and professional approach to the job. Replaced some original windows and all the siding on the house with Hardie board. House looks brand new. Andy the head carpenter on the job was excellent to work and stayed in communication with me the whole time if there was any questions and was always available by phone whenever I called. Jim was great on keeping his pencil sharp in getting an excellent price for the job.

I highly recommend them. As with any contractor if you don't keep communication open ask questions and know everything about the project you can have problems I was extremely happy with the project and again it looks great

Terrible experience. The salesman/owner demanded final payment before the job was done, despite the fact that the contract withheld the final third payment until completion. He then spent time yelling at me on the phone because I didn't cave to his demands for early payment, threatening legal action, and also saying he was going to report supposed violations on our home rehab (despite regular inspections by our village). Siding -1 Windows-1 technically didn't even complete the terms of the work in the contract, but I was so eager to be free of them, it was worth closing the book on them.

The installation team itself was professional.yet three months later a piece of siding fell off, and then it took three months of my calling every week or so before someone came out to repair it. Three months after the repair the same piece fell off, taking another piece with it. And now three months later, despite my regular calling, it has not been fixed.

They have a five-year warranty on the installation, but they don't respect the warranty and offer no customer service. Stay clear. [JANUARY 2017 UPDATE: After I posted this review in late 2016, the company became responsive and fixed the piece under warranty before the end of the year. I would have rather they had been more proactive when I first called, but I can now say the work is complete.]

Last year we had new windows installed by Siding1Windows1, and they did a great job. We hired them again last month to do fascia, gutters, and soffits on our home. The estimate was very competitive, and we stayed on budget. The workers were courteous, fast, and cleaned up the area when they finished. We also recommended them to our neighbors, as they commented on how nice it turned out!

Siding 1 Windows 1 is a top notch company that provides quality service - I'm not sure what these other reviewers are talking about but my experience was a pleasant one. They came in with a good price, not the lowest but the quality of products was better. Thanks Jim for the honest work.
