Industry by keeping our members well-informed and helping them comply with the rules and regulations that affect their businesses, employees, and customers. We strive to foster better working relationships and a more cohesive working environment between contractors, suppliers, and consultants. With this in mind, we offer opportunities throughout the year to network and exchange information with fellow roofing industry colleagues, including at our membership meetings, annual golf tournament, and trade show meeting (every other year).
Services
In 1990, the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California established the Johnny Zamrzla award, which recognizes extraordinary service on behalf of the roofing industry. It is the most prestigious and highest tribute the Association gives. The first recipient was Johnny Zamrzla, Western Pacific Roofing Corp., and the award was given his name in honor of his continuous, active leadership in the industry and association work, from local to national forums.
This year we moved our typical Monday tournament to a Tuesday and returned to our favorite location, Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine, for our Annual Jim Nienow Golf Tournament. The morning began with overcast skies and the temperature a humid 65 degrees. An annual tradition, committee members met to assemble bags and set up registration areas.
In 2019 we awarded more in scholarships than we ever had in the long history of our association! With your support of both our 30th Annual Jim Nienow Golf Tournament and our 1st Annual RCASoCal Clay Shoot, we raised $38,500 in scholarships and awarded 19 recipients! Thank you for your support of these important fundraisers!
In 2017, we awarded $24,000 in Jim Nienow Scholarships to family of RCASoCal Members! We take pride in our scholarship program, and we are happy to make an investment in the lives and futures of our member families. Learn about our 2017 scholarship recipients below!. At first, I had no idea how to arrange the wires and batteries to make a motor move or a light bulb turn on, but with my father's help, my love for electronics sparked! In high school, I continued my pursuit of engineering-related activities.
