There are two main types of flat roofs but not limited to: (1) Thermal Plastic Olefin (TPO) and (2) SBS modified asphalt. There are a number of applications for these type roofs but a good rule of thumb is to use this material when the pitch of the roof is less than 2 drop per 12 lineal inches. Any pitch less than this will void [shingle] roof material manufacturer's warranty and possibly your metal roof warranty. Today there are many options, grades/quality or materials, and benefits associated the different materials.

We closed on a house that had an 18 year old roof and was in really bad shape. Scott with Barton Roofing got us scheduled before we even closed to come out the day after we closed. They worked very quickly considering they ran into unforeseen issues due to the roof being so old. They ended using more decking than they originally thought they would, but they didn't charge us extra for it. We appreciate them taking such good care of us! I'd definitely recommend their services and will gladly use them again in the future!

Purchasing a home is normally the largest investment in an individual's life. As a real estate agent, it's imperative that my clients receive the best service from contractors. If a contract is contingent on repairs, the timeline is often tight. Barton Roofing was excellent in ensuring my client's house (under contract) was repaired in a timely manner.
In fact, the entire roof was replaced. The communication by their time was excellent. Many thanks to the team at Barton Roofing for ensuring the repairs were finished on time. As such, the transaction did close, and my clients now have a new roof.

Very good, high quality, attention to detail. Scott at Barton Roofing replaced my roof and did a fantastic job. But beyond simply installing a new roof, Scott went the extra mile to ensure the job was done right. I had some work done on my chimney by another contractor at the same time as the roof replacement and Scott showed up at my house one day with sealant for my new chimney cap and climbed up on the roof and applied it. at no charge.
He just realized it was something I needed to have done and he showed up and took care of it. Keep in mind, he has a crew that actually does the work on the roof and he doesn't normally do the work himself (other than being a runner to get the occasional additional supplies) but he has no problem getting his hands dirty, climbing up on the roof and doing whatever is necessary to get the job done and get it done right. Barton Roofing was the *only* roofing contractor out of the 4 roofing companies that bid on my job to point out and understand that a ridge vent only works well when your house has soffit vents.
He correctly recommended that I should continue to use turbine vents if I was not going to install soffit vents and I had him replace my old, rusty, slightly squeeky turbines with slick new color-matched quiet turbines. All other roofing contractors immediately quoted me ridge vents, including one contractor who actually quoted my roof job by looking at satellite photos, without asking about soffit vents or even really appearing to understand how attic ventilation works. Barton Roofing communicates well, gives a fair price, goes the extra mile, and has an efficient and professional crew. Give Scott a call and see for yourself.

I had a great experience with Barton Roofing. Very professional, knowledgeable and did a great job on my roof project. They solve some chronic problems that took custom fabricated flashings and corrected numerous rotted wood and ventilation problems. I will highly recommend them to anyone who needs a new roof!

When I found out that the decking on my roof was rotten, I asked for several bids for a new roof installation. Scott of Barton Roofing provided a prompt and reasonable estimate, no charge. He even provided shingle samples for me to consider. He was not pushy or aggressive, and was patient with my decision to hire Barton Roofing. The roofing crew arrived on time, and Scott was on-site to monitor the progress several times during the day.
The new roof is beautiful, and I am happy to tell others about the good workmanship and professionalism I observed during this roofing project. I highly recommend Barton Roofing of Austin, Texas!

Barton Roofing re-roofed our house after years and hail had damaged it. We had no problems with the roofing they did. Original construction of our chimney created an issue later. Not knowing what the issue was, we called these guys and they came out in a very timely manner at no charge and spent time thoroughly investigating everything with us to identify the issue with the chimney.
Fast forward a year or two - we were having our a/c redone and the a/c company accidentally cut two holes in the wrong place on our roof. They called Barton and Barton sent someone out the very next day who did a great patch job. We've had some heavy rain since then and those patches seem to be totally fine. We also had them fix the roof of our shed that was leaking. Don't be offput by the owner's no-nonsense attitude. They showed up when they said they would, did quality work with no problems arising during or after, and charged reasonable fees with no unexpected charges.
