UPDATE TO REVIEW. There was a miscommunication on the follow up after Allen Roofing came out to look at our issue. They left a message on an old phone number in our file with them. When we received the message and called them back, they outlined the plan of how they would begin to find and resolve our attic venting issue. Services: Roof installation, Attic venting

Allen Roofing was contracted by Consort Homes to put the roof on our new home. Every time the wind gets going, usually from April to June, we get shingles flying off our roof. We'd had to have this roof repaired (not by Allen because they were hard to reach and wouldn't give any warranties) several times in the few years we've been in our house. Plus, they installed the most junk IKO Canadian manufactured shingles (which are too large in metric measurements not suited for the US market) who had a class action against them for poor quality that didn't hold up to standards.
As a roofer, they should have warned Consort about using junk on houses in our neighborhood. Our roofer that comes out and repairs it every year says IKO and Allen are the combo that was used in so many houses that have failed shingles in our neighborhood. It's frustrating because there is no way these will last 20 years when they started falling off at year 2. Update: Regarding Allen Roofing's response.
There is no "confusion." I do not use my real name online as it's a security issue and I don't need more spam mail. The quality of work was poor (verified by two different roofing companies) and the product they put on was defective. Other homeowners in my neighborhood and others in which Consort Homes and McBride Homes used IKO shingles and Allen roofing are having major issues. Check the other reviews yourself.

I have used Allen Roofing many times over the years for anything and everything from a roof replacement to simple roof repairs, shingle replacements, gutter downspout repairs and gutter guard installations. I have never once been disappointed in their service. Allen Roofing communicates well, which is something I value in any contractor and they are always very transparent. The quality of their work is top-notch too. I recommend Allen Roofing to anyone for any of their services and for any job, big or small.

I touched base with Allen Roofing about a leak that had occurred, in the complete roof they had installed, 8 years prior. That same afternoon, Jim C was at my home, on my roof, repairing what was causing the problem, before an upcoming big storm. I'm quite impressed, and thankful they are still doing good work & still care about their customers. Thank you Allen Roofing & thank you Jim, I appreciate your help!

If you want a truly local union company, then this is the one. I ran into this company over a 3 year period when I was an adjuster assisting with property claims for storm damage in St. Louis, Missouri. I have to say, they are by far the most organized construction company I've ever seen. The workers all nearly all union workers which I've never worked with before.
I learned that Union workers actually care about the work, which is different from the other construction companies I encountered over the years. Anyways, my point is if you want some local Union guys, go with this company.

5 years ago I Built a new home and Allen Roofing was the contractor. Ive been losing about 4-5 shingles per year but they have always come out to nail them back up and move on with no drama. Called again and was told they would send an estimator in 3-4 business days and they would look at it and send me an estimate by mail. ALL I NEED IS ONE SHINGLE NAILED BACK ON.

Agree with previous reviewer regarding Allen being contracted with McBride. Our neighborhood is a McBride subdivision that also used Allen for roofing. Every time there are high winds, just about every house has flapping shingles or shingles completely blown off. We've been here 5 yrs and have had the roof repaired ( not by Allen) 6 times. And the repairs started within months of moving in.
Brand new roofs should not be loosing shingles every time the wind blows. The roofers who repair it consistently tell us it's a combination of poor quality shingles AND poor workmanship on the install. Some neighbor's insurance companies won't pay for damages, citing the improper install. Would definitely steer clear of Allen for roofing needs.

Awful. This company built my roof with Consort homes, and not 2 years later, my yard is littered with shingles. We had several roofers come by and say it was horrible work done by the builder. When I tell them it was Allen Roofing, 2 of the roofers knew how infamous they were. These people are either unskilled or scam artists. I'm showing some pictures of some of the shingles I lost last month.

After signing and sending the contract twice ( they said the first was never received) and waiting over 2 months to "get on their schedule, " which after 2+ months still hadn't happened, I called them to cancel and not bother. Wasted two months waiting and now fortunately have found another company who will do the work right away.

I called this company 5 times and 2 times to the supervisor and NO ONE returned my call. They told me 6 weeks wait time to get our roof replaced and 12 weeks later no call. Then after research, I discovered they were going to use low quality material and not use a drip guard as required in my area. I have since canceled my contract and am waiting for a written agreement. Can't understand why they want to leave big bucks on the table. Glad to be out of contract.

I have used this company twice & have been very pleased with their work. They came & fixed all of the roofing problems that the building contractor missed. Very professional. I had to be mindful since weather issues makes doing the job a bit harder. But, they did the work fast. So far no more leaks. Thanks, Allen Roofing!
