J & J Roofing

J & J Roofing just finished reroofing our home and did a fantastic job. I got 4 bids and this quote was in the middle. however Matt knew exactly what needed to be done and how it needed to be done. He was familiar with San Marino city codes. He was very clear and prompt.in his communications. The work began as scheduled and finished on time. The crew was very efficient, quiet, (as quiet as you can be while banging on the roof) and neat.

Everything was clean at the end of the day and all our landscaping was intact at the end of the job. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable roofer.

What a lucky Yelp find! J &J Roofing was a pleasure to deal with from our first contact. Jush came on time to estimate our roofing project - even calling ahead to confirm his arrival. We had our COMPLETE estimate including terms and conditions, guarantee, etc. within 24 hours. We had questions to clarify things which he immediately responded to.while on vacation.

We scheduled our start date - no deposit required and work began as planned. Crews arrived early in the morning as shared and they worked all day taking breaks as if scheduled and then cleaning up before leaving each day. Justin in the office always called with updates and next steps. The communication was and Justin was very courteous and responsive to any questions we had.

We highly recommend this company and will be sharing their name with all our friends in need of roof repair or complete new roofs. BTW - We have an S-tile roof and these guys were great. Our bill was exactly the amount estimated. We couldn't be any more satisfied.

Do not use this company. I reached out to them last summer to have a couple of small repairs done to our roof (which was newly built in 2016). The inspector was good and the email interactions with Matt were good-he was friendly, helpful and seemed knowledgeable. That's pretty much where the good ended. Once the contract was signed, the day of, two men showed up.

They never rang the doorbell to even let me know they were here. They just went through our gates to the backyard and started doing the work. Except they were doing it wrong. The diverter we discussed was installed in the wrong place! There was a language barrier so I tried to call the office and no one was available to help. The flat roof they also suggested we re-do was done extremely sloppily-it looked awful!

After trying for days to get in touch with someone I was connected to Justin. He came out and patched up the shingle area that was now unsightly due to the diverter being placed incorrectly there. I paid them the $2400 for sloppy work. Now the really bad part. I noticed after some very short and light rain (not the heavy rain we received in December), the shingles surrounding the other diverter they installed were all wet. Seemed strange and it was worrisome!

Sure enough there was either 1) no need for the diverter 2) it was placed incorrectly. The water is pooling beneath and around the shingles and causing who knows what kind of damage below it and to what extent! I have sent a handful of emails explaining the situation and included the attached photos to the office, Justin and Matt (the owner) and have also left a few voicemails.

Not ONE has been returned. They do not care. They recommended work that didn't need to be done, furthermore they CAUSED damage that I now have to pay another roofer to correct, they have taken zero responsibility, they haven't bothered to return one email or phone call. I am absolutely disappointed and appalled at the LOUSY customer service and work of this company. They should be held accountable. I highly recommend not using them because they do not honor their work and they don't care one bit about their customers. AWFUL!

Got a few bids and decided on J&J. Mike answered my questions in detail and make sensible recommendations for fixing our roof. Justin laid out the schedule and coordinated each step for us - removal of old roof, inspection, new roofing, etc. All the workers that showed up were courteous and professional. It went as should. uneventful = good. Would definitely considering working with them again.

J&J Roofing did a great job and completed the project efficiently and with a fair price.

I didn't have a good experience with J&J I received an outrageous quote and the inspector Mike didn't do a good job. He literally came out for the inspection for 5 mins and wanted over $500 just to change tiles. I thought bloody hell Mate I could have hired a day laborer who could have replaced the tile for a fraction of the cost. Interesting man.

At the beginning of this year, we engaged J & J Roofing for some general repairs. They had an impeccable reputation, but I'm extremely happy to say they even exceeded that flawless track record with unmatched service! The team is responsive, extremely knowledgeable, kind, and impressively efficient. The estimate process was honest and very transparent.

They identified the areas that needed to be addressed and fixed them in one day, giving us another year with a perfect roof. They are the rare experts who provide efficiency, quality, and honesty all at once. We will use them forever, feel blessed to have found them, and will highly recommend them to friends, family, and anyone looking for a new roof or repairs. They are hands down the best!

Just to let everyone know, I called again and spoke directly with Mike! He was most attentive to my issue and needs and so I have now set an appointment for J&J to come out to my house! My little phone mishap aside, J&J comes highly recommended and so, especially after speaking with Mike (for like 15 minutes!), I feel like I am in good hands!

I hired J&J to replace a leaky garage roof. I hired based on neighborhood recommendations but, as any home owner knows, you always get multiple quotes. The quotes were all similar but the other companies didn't give me the level of detail and information that J&J provided. [one company called me a week after they said they would with just a number. literally no information on what they would do, just said it would be X-cost.] Justin was very thorough and arranged everything.

We had unexpected rain but of course, he reached out well in advance to communicate the delay in the work and also handled the logistics of moving the inspections. As someone who has completed major renovations, I really appreciate the coordination and my complete lack of involvement in getting the job done. I would absolutely recommend their services.

Working with J & J went smoothly, no issues. Fix up was done, everything looks fine.

J&J roofing was great. They finished our roof on time and for $6,000.00 less than our next best bid. They recommended a Versico roof because they said it would keep our house cooler in the summer. We were skeptical, but its made a huge difference -- just like they said it would. My only complaint is that they were tough to get in touch with at times, but still worthy of 5 stars. Rating assumes the roof won't leak - I'm not worried but can't be sure until it rains.

Justin came and took care of our leak. He was great and made sure I knew that I could follow up after the rainy season to ensure that the fix was working. The level of service he provided me after the initial tumult was satisfactory and I would with J&J again for my roofing needs

With my long-term knowledge of these folks and knowing the heart and soul they put into everything they do, I absolutely would not hesitate to do business with them! Honest, smart, hard-working people!

When we remodeled our house the contractor neglected to put a coating on the roof and as a result tar was dripping down over the edge and staining our driveway and deck. I called Matt at J&J who immediately identified the problem and proposed a solution of an elastomeric coating which has the added benefit of reflecting the heat. They did a fantastic job, the roof looks great, and even though it took them an extra day to finish there was no additional charge. J&J is my "go to" company for any roofing needs.

I was very impressed with the depth of knowledge, experience and honesty of Matt Glass when he came to assess my roof and garage. Matt is not only a J &J roofing representative, he is also a licensed roof contractor, who is so knowledgable that he patiently explained what was needed in order to fix everything from simple cracks to what my roof needed and what my garage required, and his analysis included specific details of the issues, which I found to be amazingly informative- (which a layman like myself understood easily), and most of all honest -since I tried a couple of other contractors who I realized (after talking to Matt) were trying to rip me off!

I highly recommend Matt at J&J roofing for any projects one might need due to his knowledge and experience and also given that his follow up via email after his visit is impeccable!

Matt and Justin were friendly, efficient, and organized and responded to my emails and calls immediately. Carlos and Ceaser (and their team) who did the work were wonderful and a pleasure to have at my house for the duration of the week. I'm so impressed by how kind and professional the team was across the board!

J&J was absolutely amazing. Hands down the most reliable and trustworthy contractor we've worked with, which many of you understand is hard to find. We looked into about 4 roofers and J&J immediately stood out. Their estimator was efficient and nice. He didn't try to "sell" me like some of the others that came by. J&J's pricing also came out very reasonable compared to the other quotes. Mike, one of the owners, personally answered ALL of my questions (I asked many) and was super quick to respond, many times going above and beyond to make sure we got exactly what we wanted.

When it came time to install, their crew was on time, professional, cleaned up every day, and was flexible when we had to make one or two small changes mid-install. Beyond all that, 6 weeks after they finished, our next-door neighbor trimmed their tree, and some of the branches damaged a few shingles on the roof. Mike and Justin responded right away and quickly came out to make sure it was fixed correctly and at no charge. Cant say enough good things about them!

Because I'm in real estate, I have to have a database of companies that I can trust to take care of my clients. J & J Roofing is one of those companies. Not only do I rely on them for my clientele but I refer them regularly, even to others in the industry. A realtor friend of mine urgently needed her own roof repaired and didn't have anyone she trusted.

I referred her to J & J Roofing and not only did she love the work they did for her, but she also uses them now for her clients. In my industry, we talk about which companies are true professionals. We need them to do what they say. on time and on budget. This company does just that. And when a company makes my clients happy, I'm happy. Definitely our go-to company for anything roof-related.

What amazing customer service & response time. They were honest & straight forward NO upselling.

Not only did they do an incredibly sloppy job, they set fire to the roof, which went from the roof, into the attic and down into the kitchen which was under renovation. Goodbye new roof, goodbye new paint job, goodbye new cabinetry, goodbye new marble and goodbye new floors. We're talking in excess of $100,000 in damages. To make matters worse, they have refused to cooperate and to provide information necessary to move the repairs forward with a new contractor. Two months and counting with a hole in the roof. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.

Very trustworthy. Very reliable. 2 things that are hard to find in the construction business and these guys nail it. Def a savior for anyone looking for a roof without the hassle. Call em.

We hired J&J roofing to replace the roof on our Highland Part home back in June of 2020. They did a fantastic job, worked quickly and the communication was fantastic. I made a few changes along the way and they were able to accommodate in a very timely fashion. On top of this their prices was very reasonable. I got 3 quotes, of which 1 of those other quotes started off really high and then kept reducing it once I told them I would get another quote. J&J roofing did not pull any of these tricks they were fair from the start. Thank you!

After purchasing a new home and dealing with one can contractor after another I would have to say that J and J Roofing has been the easiest, the most professional and with a highly competitive price. You won't be dissatisfied. I'm completely satisfied with the speed with the which the work was completed and with the quality of work. I initially heard about this company from the Nextdoor app, and I'm glad I made the decision to use them.
